Between 17 and 20 y/o I did Acid, PCP, Ludes, shroomes and speed one time each just to test drive them, and smoked weed for about 3 years (only meaning to try it once), so my history is not exactly squeaky clean, but all this other stuff I'm reading here is completely bizzare!

What is the worst possible drug you could get hooked on? To me, it seems I hear a lot in the news that Methanphetimine is one of the worst that grabs people and turns them inside out.

Are there other drugs worse than that? :(

You sound really sketchy "between 17 and 20 y/o" "PCP, ludes" you did "speed" but still wonder about meth and you did acid shrooms and smoked weed for 3 years yet have a very biased antidrug mindset.

Yes, methamphetamine is probably one of the worst to get addicted to, plus it's terrible for just abou8t every part/organ on the human body...

than IMO, crack is the next worst, once again being really bad for u-as most people smoke it.

Next, cigerettes

next, alcohol

than id say opiates, like heroin, oxycodone, hydrocodone, morphine, ect. But opiates are not bad for you, they are basically just very addicting cuz it's a really good feeling and most human beings react very well with it

----opiates release endorphins (endorphins is a natural pain killer and natural happy juice)
the only thing that kills opiates addicts are pills like, percoset and vicoden, because they contain APAP-which is advil and tylenol, and that shit fucks up ur stomach and liver...

you know when u get REaeLLY excited and happy all the sudden- thats endorphins
and thats the painkillers high, its amazing, but tolerence arrises and sucks for people like us who take them alot.... if u can space out ur opiate use to dosing ONLY every 72hrs at most, than you can contain and low tolerence and not get addicted.

I would go out on a limb here and say that methamphetamine will suck your soul out of your body faster than most drugs(never personally tried it). Opiate addiction sucks too and I have experience there but it seems that when I read about meth addiction I'm happy I have a small opiate addiction.

----opiates release endorphins (endorphins is a natural pain killer and natural happy juice)

Small correction here: Opiates bind to Mu opiate receptor, which is the same receptor types that endorphins bind. They don't actually cause any increase or release in endorphins AFAIK.

A drug is only as bad as the actions of the people associated with it.

Since everyone is acts and reacts differently there is no definitive answer to your question. Except, possibly, gasoline and related inhalants, as there are next to no cases of individuals using most inhalants for any length of time without severe and irreparable organ and nervous system damage. And even there, no one is sure where to draw the line of acceptable safety: Chloroethane? Isoflurane? Butyl Nitrite? the question is not easily answered.

Well, I'd say morphine, though to me it seems like the best drug to be hooked on...

However, I'm too scarred of methamphetamine to ever try it. Not even once.

I saw a friend tonight that I went to HighSchool with and he told me of another common friend who I haven't seen in 10 years and he is messed up on Meth. He said all his teeth were gone and he was really skinny ..... it kind of made me wonder why he would try that stuff? He was always a big drinker in high school, so maybe he has a really addictive personality. :(

Not biased at all, I understand the pleasure factor. The smoking weed took me by surprise. I only wanted to try it once to see what the big deal was, but it turned into a daily thing. I eventually quit enjoying smoking it and was glad to get away from it. I binge drank on the weekends for years as well .... so you could say I have an addictive personality. Because of the weed addiction, I was always paranoid in trying any hard stuff. I'm not judgemental at all, just trying to understand what the really bad stuff is and the effects it has on life.

You think alcohol is more addictive than heroin or opiates? Wow, I wouldn't have thought that.

Thanks for the info.

You sound like you musta grown up in the 70's. Qualudes and mandrax where a thing of the 70's and very early 80's. Though mandrax (just methaqualone mixed with diphenhydramine) was technically available in canada up until 93 i think but i doubt there was ever a script wrote after the mid 80's. Also PCP was supposed to be popular in the 70's and 80's along with speed pills like white crosses. I used to know alot of old school drug users and these along with barbiturates are the drugs they talked about.

Anyway i think meth is the most desructive drug out there. I don't think i have met one recreational meth user in my life just addicts. Though im sure there are people who use meth recreationally and arent addicted to it. But it seems to be the most soul destroying addiction out there and is maybe the worst thing to get addicted to.

Also ive been a alcoholic and a opiate addict and i can say alcoholism is worse then opiate addiction.

Alright sorry about that. The worst drug to be addicted to is a benzo (xanax, valium, klonopin) the withdrawals are worse than any other drug and last for months.

Meth can certainly mess people up ive seen it happen. It turns people into super selfish talkative nymphomaniacs. If its used for a long time people can get the "meth mouth" and ugly faces. People use it because it feels really good and makes them feel good about themselves. They dont think anything bad will happen to them. Its like speed times 2.

All drugs can be used safely but most arnt. It depends on your personality i really like K and benzos but im not a big fan of meth and opiates even having tried both.

Yeah, you are exactly right, I did my experimenting in the late 70s and pretty much cut everything out except drinking (weekends) I'm not up to speed on what is what anymore...... except for what I hear on the news.

For me the best buzz has been getting semi drunk and then topping it off with some good grade bud. It would be easy to go overboard sometimes, but it's not like it was going to kill me and I was diciplined enough to hold it to Friday and Saturday nights, so addiction wasn't too much of a prob.

I recently got some methadone and codeine cough syrup and was thinking of the possiblities of sampling that, but after reading some of the stuff here, that would be a really dumb idea.

Oh well, I'm a lightweight, but it's probably for the better. :\

You could take methadone and codeine safely. If you started doing them daily for more than a week you would get addicted.

From what Ive heard alcohol should definately up there! You can literally drink your self to death and you can also die when withdrawing from alcohol

But of course the governments make millions in taxes from alcohol so they dont give it the big nasty drug label! The same with cigarettes too nicotine is the most addictive drug and i think everyone accepts smoking kills. If alcohol and nicotine we introduced today i think they would be outlawed

You'd be surprised how large the difference between what the truth and what you think is the truth. Trust me, I was.

no, im saying its worse for u... i havent been addicted to alcohol tho, only opiates. but i know and hear that alc WDs are terrible.

but addictions wise, if ur addicted ur addicted, the drug dont matter, ur gonna be in agony with any WDs, but Benzodiazapines are the worst to get addicted to...

hheroin or oxycodone WDs are bad too, but they arent "bad" for your body, they bad for your mind for mental addictions, the feeling u get outta opiates is a wonderful mysterious feeling that everyone ador.

Methamphetamine ( or any amphetamine really ) is hard on the body when misused....and can lead to a nasty addiction.

Benzodiazepines ( xanax, valium, ativan, klonopin being the most commonly prescribed ) - while being pretty physically benign on the body generally speakin...are also terrible to get addicted to....withdrawl from a heavily dependent benzodiazepine user can result in at the very least a horrible withdrawl syndrome and at the worst seizures and possibly death. It doesn't take very long to become dependant on benzos.

Alcohol - If one is addicted to alcohol the harm done to the body is extrodinarily heavy ( cirrosis of the liver, stomach problems, brain damage, among other things )....and the withdrawls from alcohol can cause seizures, DTs, insomnia, anxiety etc etc.

Opioids ( oxycodone, hydrocodone, methadone, heroin, hydromorphone morphine etc etc ) - are pretty physically benign to your body. The withdrawls are hell, but at least you don't risk death w/ding from opioids.

Basically anything when misused for any length of time can lead to some terrible consequences, use in moderation and watch your useage. Addiction is a slippery slope that doesn't happen overnight, but you need to be aware of how often you're using, if you're upping the dose or using more and more frequently....addiction kindof sneaks up on you.
I've been in the past heavily dependant on opioids and currently dependant on benzodiazepines. The benzos are by far the hardest one to kick in my experience.

I would suggest not taking methadone if you don't have a tolerance. It's a very dangerous opioid to opiate newbies due to it's really long half life, potency, respiratory depression and the fact that it takes a few hours to really work.

Take the codeine though by all means. It's a good opiate if you have little to know tolerance and it's pretty damn safe. It's pretty hard to get addicted to codeine.
