I’m a junkie

I never refer to myself or others as junkies or addicts. Accepting the common understanding of the term “junkie” I would not consider it fair to label someone a junkie unless they’re lying and stealing on a daily basis and essentially sacrificing everything for the next fix.

I consider myself a human-being who occasionally took various substances; calling myself a junkie would be selling myself way-short and giving people the wrong impression.

Australian people might be different but in America one of the last things you would want to be called is a junkie. People will dehumanize you, treat you as subhuman.

Being a junkie is a spectrum and everyone’s on it. Adrenalin, sex, sport, food, drug or any other junkies. And than within each group some are doing fine some not at all. Some do extreme sports until their body serves them while some are destined to die young cuz the way they roll.
