So this question is for my friend. She's been on levothyroxine since she was three years old. It's a long story but she's a cancer survivor. But she has a belly (( not big by any means )) but it bothers her and I'm assuming the levothyroxine is partly to blame because I've read that it can make you feel bloated and if she's in her 40s now that's a long time to be taking that medicine. Would iodine help her lose the belly fat even though it doesn't even look like fat. Her belly is hard and bloated and hurts her all the time. She also asked her doctor if she should be on T3 but he said she's fine with just the levothyroxine. What would you guys suggest for her problem and how much iodine does one need if they have hypothyroidism? Thanks guys!
