Hypothetical IM/IV/IO scenario

Good Evening Bluelighters.

So, lets pose a scenario...

I understand, say for example, Codeine Phosphate, is hepatically metabolised into morphine via a standardised route. If one was to literally, crush a tablet of said codeine, and with it being hydrosoluable dilute it in water, and then inject this compound either IV or IM - what would the outcome pose. I'm interested in the biochemical outcome, as opposed to the "you'd be an idiot" etc.

TIA

Codeine is only indicated for IM injections 'cause IV usage has a tendency to cause massive histamine release and possibly pulmonary edema (lungs fill with fluid).

If it's injected IM it's basically the same as taking it orally because oral BA is 90% anyway. It still gets metabolized by the liver into glucuronide conjugates and morphine and norcodeine and all that... remember that your liver is connected to your bloodstream :)
