Hey guys, I am just curious as an individual with a physical dependency on opiates, and a moderate user of benzodiazepines; will ingesting Hydroxyzine Pamoate HCL induce a 'benzo like' hypnotic state (high/low) ? I am aware that this drug 'uses up' the natural chemicals in your body that breakdown opiates; making them somewhat desirable if taken along with opiates. In short I am just curious about personal experiences and opinions that others may have had. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks :)

the sedating effects of first-generation antihistamines like hydroxyzine are felt by some to "potentiate" the recreational effects of opiates because they combine with the sedating effects of the opiates themselves to make it more likely that you'll nod off... as well, antihistamines are often prescribed with opiates in clinical practice because it's thought that they'll potentiate the analgesic effect of the opiate in question. but on the flip, many recreational users feel that dosing an antihistamine before or concurrent with opiate use "dirties" the high... so there's a lot of personal taste in there as well. but none of the first-generation antihistamines really slow the metabolism of opiates, inhibit liver enzymes, etc so it's not really true that they "use up the natural chemicals in your body that break down opiates". it's really just more mixing sedatives than anything else.

That was very informative and basically the exact answer I was looking for. Thank you for your reply, sincerely. ;)
