Hydromorphone - Methadone dosing?

Well, about out of this times' hydromorphone script. Would like to hopefully ease withdrawals with 1/2 of a 50mg Methadone I still have around. Should I hold off for a day or so before taking the Methadone, and would it help the withdrawals any?
 
Methadone will alleviate your withdrawal symptoms 100% if you take the correct dosage. Methadone takes a long time to kick in, but lasts a very long time, so if you take some and nothing happens after an hour, don't redose. Methadone can take a few hours to completely kick in.

Check out the conversion table in my signature, and start on the low side when working with dosages.
 
Methadone does have a bit of extended release so I definitely won't redose. I just have the 1/2 of a 50mg so taking too much shouldn't be a problem I don't think.

Should I wait to take it? My thought was to finish the hydromorphone and take the Methadone the next morning when I wake up. This sound like a good plan?
 
I don't know. What dosage of hydromorphone are you going to be withdrawaling from?

I'd wait a full day so you're in withdrawals before taking the methadone.
 
48mg-60mg per day intranasal, this time around since last Wednesday.

OK. You should experience WD relief with 25mg (half a 50mg pill). If you don't get full relief, I'd cut the remaining 25mg part into a half for 12.5mg, instead of just eating another 25mg, which would probably be overkill.

Start with 25mg once you're in withdrawal, wait a few hours and see how you feel. Were you IVing your hydromorphone or using another ROA?

I would still start with 25mg and see how you feel. Methadone dosing is sort of a range of dosages depending on personal reaction to it. :)
 
Worked like a charm for yesterday. Still craving the fucks like crazy, naturally. Opiates, Dilaudid especially, are nightmarishly addictive. Time to get some 'codones I s'pose. :D
 
Yes there is a 50mg Methadone tab. I didn't believe it until I looked at it, but yep it's 50. There's also 5mg tabs too, I'm sure more.
 
I haven't had the full tab for a while and took the 1/2 yesterday. I'm sure I'll be using more for withdrawals now so I'll update when I can.
 
are you POSITIVE it is a FIFTY mg METHADONE tablet? I have never heard of this and i cannot find it anywhere. I was under the impression the 40mg methadone wafer was the highest single dose unit methadone that was ever produced, and, i dont think they stopped MAKING the 40mg wafers, cus i know the rehab i went to last october used the wafers, but they stopped prescribing the general public the wafers cus too many people were ODing on them.

I am not calling you out or trying to be a dick, i've just never heard of or encountered a 50mg methadone tablet and I think you might possibly be confused as to what you have.
 
No worries, I know better than to say I can't be wrong. :)

I just know that after being on 5mg titrated up to 10mg, then seeing one of those, it was definitely neither of those. I'm more inclined to say it was a 40mg but without a tab to ID I can't say for sure one way or the other. I'll be able to say for sure hopefully soon.

You didn't come across as a dick, either, if somebody's giving false info. about pills (especially when they don't know it's false) it is in everyone's best interest to educate. :D
 
It's cool, i bet you probably had the 40mg wafer, if you did have one you got really lucky cus i know those things are impossible to get prescribed now, the most methadone you can get prescribed is 10mg tablets, unless your in a methadone clinic but 99% of clinics use the liquid and you have to dose right in front of them anyway.

I thought that you were just confused and you meant either Meperidine or Morphine 50mg tablets cus i couldnt think of any other opiates that start with M and come in a 50mg tablet
 
The person is given them for severe neuropathic-type pain, I believe, but it didn't look like anything I've ever seen (including the tabs in the above pic), so now I'm pretty curious as to what the hell they are myself. lol
 
Imagine if you find out what youve been taken wasnt methadone but was in fact Lyrica or something. Haha,i would be calling that guy asking wtf the pill imprint is on what ive been munching down.
