To try and keep this short and to the point, all medication is prescribed by the Pain mgmt team, And surgical Team, who performed the very invasive, complicated surgery. This is my first thread I've posted, so if I get any rules, and/or details mixed up, I apologize in advance. Anyways my current regiment of scripts, are all very synergistic IMO. The hydromorphone 2mg for breakthrough pain, is potentiated by the Promethazine 25mg for anti-nausea, and antihistamine effects, And upon that is the Valium 5-10mg, witch adds to the sedation, and muscle relaxant effect, and for extended release pain relief, is a 50mcg/hr transdermal Patch, changed every 72 hours. Now that the list of medication is written above, my question is, are all of these substances, actually potentiating each other; and obviously I'm under safe dosages, because, they are all prescribed from my doc. And i have a moderate to strong tolerance, But am I under any type of danger of overdose, or other severe problems with what I'm taking? I'm already knowledgeable about the withdrawals that will come upon ending the meds. And will tapper down accordingly. Also the ROA is all used as prescribed, except intranasal Administration, very rarely of the hydromorphone,. Because of the low bioavailability orally. And the daily doses are usually: 8-10mg of hydromorphone, 10-15mg of Valium, 25-75mg Promethazine, and the fentanyl Patch witch is steady release.- obviously these are throughout the entire day, not all at once. Just looking for advice on the best ROA and BA for all the drugs listed, and if I should change anything. Thank you and sorry for any rule breaking or messed up details. peace!
