Opioids Hydromorphone during MMT

Hello guys, I'm on methadone atm, I take 55mg per day, usually in the morning... yesterday I went to take my methadone only at around 8AM in the morning and today I didn't go to the pharmacy before 7PM ... a little before going to the pharmacy I took a dose of hydromorphone to see if I could still get a hit (I'm supposed to be stable at 55mg, its been a week I'm on that dose) I have waited from 8AM to 8AM next day (24h) + until 6PM +10h = 34 hours after my last methadone dose... I took 12mg of Hydromorph-contin.... I did it VERY well to get the MOST of hydromorphone in one syringe and I injected VERY CLEANLY in a very good spot and I barely felt anything (I felt a LITTLE LITTLE MINI something... not quite sure we clould even call it a rush) I was wondering if it was normal or maybe the guy that sold me this hydromorphone has something to do with the fact they are weaker than what I expect from them... or is it normal to feel this way when you are on 55mg of methadone when you didnt miss a single day in the past week?
All I wanna know is if I can still get a "Rush" while being on MMT once in a while... Would I have to not take my methadone dose 1 day and wait 48 hours and then try 12mg? Or is it COMPLETELY worthless on methadone to try and get a rush ? Be honest guys I know some of you would prefer if Id just give up but if you tell me it's impossible I wanna make sure at 100% That it's really impossible not becsuse you would just prefer i don't try ok?

Man I really wish I could help you but I'm just speculating here b/c I've never used hydromorph. I'm on 140mg/day MMT and used to have a 1gram + per day oxy habit before getting on the done. (Took 10-15 oxy 80mg's /day, but all orally)

When I first started the MMT, I had to travel and they wouldn't give me takehomes so I had to use oxy again for 5 days, at that time I was only on 90mg/day MMT. The first dose of oxy was at 24 hours since last dose of done, while the oxy kept me good, I didn't get any typoe of high. It wasn't until the 3rd day off of the done that the oxy started to give me a little buzz.

Now I was putting opiates in my body so I wasn't getting sick during those 3 days, but I wasn't getting a buzz either--no matter how much I took. At first I thought maybe the done had bumped up my tolerance, so I tried upping and upping my doses but nada.

So IME, the blocking effects of Methadone last for at least 72+ hours...

Now I don't know much about IV use or the rush from hydromorph, so whether or not done blocks that the same way for the same time I dunnnom...

Well, I've never shot Hydromorphone, but I do know that in the past, when I was on a very high dosage of methadone (105mg/day), 1 bag of IV heroin would still give me a great rush (granted the dope seemed to be light years better in NY around 2008-9), but leave me with no lasting high.

Once you're at a blocking dosage of methadone (which is usually around the dose youre at for most people), there is no way of 'breaking through' the methadone and achieving euphoria with opiates. I mean, if doubling your methadone dosage won't get you high, than nothing will..

The thing about Methadone is that it doesn't 'block' opiates in the way that buprenorphine or naltrexone does. In essence it just raises your tolerance to the point where your brain is saturated with methadone, and due to the long half-life, the blocking 'effect' lasts for quite a long time. Attempting to get high is pretty much pointless and dangerous, as while you're not getting the buzz from opiates when used on top of your daily methadone, you are still increasing your chances for resperitory depression.

How long the blocking effect will last since your last dose of methadone depends on several different variables, such as what dosage you're on, what narcotic you're using (good luck trying to get high on hydrocodone), and how long you've been on methadone. I know that at dosages above 80mg, for myself (and I have a super fast metabolism), it would take a lot longer than 3 days to get buzzed-no matter how much dope I used, I'd end up in the hospital or dead before I'd end up high.

The best advice I can give is to stay away from opiates if you're on MMT. It's taken a bit of trial and error for myself to accept this (and I'm not even at a blocking dose of Methadone), but I really find using heroin on top of maintenance is 1)counterproductive, and 2)not rewarding. I've actually learned to like the way methadone makes me feel more which is kind of a miracle, but it only works if I don't screw around with other opiates on top of it, and I make sure to go to the clinic every day.

Hello everyone im kinda new here so bare with me plz. I am on MMT as well. I just switched from the Methadone to the 8mg Suboxone strips. From my own experience when I was on 65mg of meth I could still get a very small buzz from the hydros. Nothing even close to what I wanted. Seemed very weak and it turned out that just skipping a day of meth then going back to the clinic got me a better buzz.
