I am curious if, taking crushed Hydromorphone Contin (beads) can be harmful, or is it just like taking instant release?

It's not harmful unless you take a lethal amount of hydromorphone to begin with. If you crush the beads you will just feel the effects more rapidly and may experience a slight perceived boost in potency.

Only thing less harmful would be with the beads intact. They’re meant to be taken orally.
