Opioids Hydromorphone and Suboxone cross-tolerance? Personal question

I've been reading a lot of threads on here about dilaudid and was finally able to get a few. I have tried dillys a couple times before and I've had GREAT experiences railing 16mgs back when I had a small tolerance to norcos(60mgs to get high). I even IV'd them a couple times but didn't feel anything, even at high doses (8-12mgs). It was my first and only times IV but I registered and shot it in the bigger vein in the crook of my arm so why didn't I feel anything?

I've been on Suboxone for a year 8mgs daily. How long should I wait before I will FULLY be able to feel the dilaudid(I'm thinking 4 days)? And my biggest question is will my tolerance to subs decrease the high of the dilaudid? I haven't used ANY opiates since I started on subs a year ago. I only have 16mgs dilaudid to work with so I want to get it right. THat's either 1 time insufflation or 4 times IV'd correctly (if I did it wrong before, did I?)

Thanks guys

If you injected hydromorphone with a low tolerance to opioids and didn't feel it, you definately slipped out of the vein. With that tolerance, dilaudid should have rocked your world.

The main issue with buprenorphine is not cross tolerance (though there is that too), but it's high affinity to opiate receptors. 8mg is definately a blocking dose, so you will most likely waste your hydromorphone, regardless of their relative potency. I would wait at least 48 hours before attempting to get high off hydromorphone.

but... is it really worth it? You're on suboxne for a reason. Believe me, I'm no saint and I've used on top of methadone and suboxone multiple times, but I'd you're trying to distance yourself from opiates, than taking a little vacation could be detrimental to your progress. I'm not going to judge whatever decision you make, and you should be proud that you made the choice to get on suboxone to begin with. I'm just giving a suggestion. I know from personal experience, that when I was able to get high on full agonists while taking suboxone, it was very hard to then go back on the bupe. Not because of the fear of precipitated withdrawal, but rather because it's hard for me to get high once and be satisfied. Now, that could just be me, though I imagine you might have a similar problem since you chose to get on maintenance to begin with.

Also, if you do decide to stop taking your suboxone for a couple of days and then use the dilaudid, make sure that there is someone around whatever area you plan on taking the dilaudid in. It's a very potent opioid, and you don't want to overdose.

Even at 48 hours you're not gonna feel shit. When I tried to use heroin on top of suboxone, even after letting myself go through withdrawals for a few days, I couldn't ever feel it like I could before I ever took subs. I got a little sedated, a little numb, but no euphoria. Even when I used dope after being off subs for a month, it was never the same. You can feel the rush if you're injecting and that's all you're looking for, but the quality and the duration of the high was ruined for me after daily suboxone use.

Sorry for bringing up and old thread but I have a very similar question. I have been using subutex for 3 months now at around 2MG a day usually and I've been having bad anxiety to the point it's hard to swallow food. So I need to switch back to a full agonist for now, do you think my tolerance to heroin has gone way up or do you think it should be around the same? It would suck to go back to H and not even get a good high after all my time on subutex.
