Hydrocodone Woes..

lol yeah could be all iin our heads i know what you mean. yep ill continue to chew mine up! peace dude

when i chewed them or broke them in half i noticed no increase in onset of action. as was said, they are instant release pills so there is absolutely no need to chew them. in addition, because peices of them get stuck in your teeth, youre actually getting less hydrocodone than if you just took them whole.
 
So I made sure not to eat anything 6 hours before I took them. I went to 711 and got a bottle of grapefruit juice and took my benadryl with that. I was working, and I was about to close up so I figured I could pop them, drive home, and pick up my 2 friends, and go chill at one of our secluded smoking spots and watch some DVDs in my car.

I broke them in halfs, and took 5 whole pills (37.5/3750 apap). Im not sure if it was in my head, but within 10 minutes I could feel it. I wasn't euphoric or anything, but I felt dizzy and when I would turn my head to it would seem like it was blurring it. It was fun.

I felt like that all night and it increased after smoking a few blunts. I felt good, nothing spectacular- but it was fun. 3 hours later I took a roxy. Felt realllll good. Then I went home and passed the fuck out.

well, lets see. i coudl sit around and wait 20 minutes for my pills to dissolve and absorb, or i could already have them in a powder form when they hit my stomache. everyone knows powders hit your stomache faster than pills. sigh. whatever. believe what you will, and so will i.
noonan-glad you had a good time! yep, sounds to me like it was a case of the natural opie tolerance. thats nothing outrageous so no worries. but yeah i figured it would take around 40 for you to feel anything. peace/merry nodding

Okay then...you just contradicted yourself. If you are absorbing it, say even sublingually or buccal, you are NOT getting less as you had stated before...:p

yes you are because the whole idea of chewing the pills is to get as much hydrocodone into your system as quickly as possible. if bits and peices of the pills are sticking between your teeth, then youre actually getting less hydro in your stomach initially.

explain how it was not obvious that this is what i was saying.
 
actualy you did fully contradict yourself. you first said that you will waste some hydro casue it gets stuck in your teeth. then when asked where that hydro went you said, oh it drips into your stomache. ie you didnt lose anything at all. maybe your getting a few mc less into you initially, but thats pointless to even state. so yeah maybe a bit of a waste on th rush? is that what your getting at? either way, you lose NO hydro, and you did contradict yourself ;)

you are wasting some hydrocodone because its not getting into your system initially, whatever is dripping down later on won't have as much of an affect if the whole idea is to get as much into your system as fast as possible. so i didn't contradict myself, you guys are just being ridicilously technical and literal in your interpretations when it was quite obvious what i was saying. i just left out the word "initially" because i didnt realize how big of a deal this was to you guys and i thought it was obvious (and still do) what i was saying.

i chew em then swish with grapefruit juice then swallow follow by a half a bar of xanax and take a couple good hits of a joint just a few though else it ruins my euphoria.... currently in the process just took the xan heading to my joint now lata
 
IMO.. When I chew pills I always drink a few gulps of water and swish the water around my mouth and through my teeth. It gets most of the crumbs out and they go down with the mouthful of water.

glad to help! yeah thats almost exactly what i do too, cept i use coffee. i just wouldnt think of doing it any other way. course this has been my ritual for the past ten years. thats just what we do/ gram teh pills, gobble em up straight to the head. thanks for everybodys input this has been an interesting thread

klowns, just to clarify there is nothing wrong with chewing the pills if you like to chew them but they definitely dont take 20 minutes to dissolve on their own. youd be surprised at how efficient your stomach acid is at dissolving things. of course breaking them in half, crushing them up, inceasing the surface area in any way couldnt hurt the absortion process, im just not a fan of chewing them because i dont like having bits of pill stuck in my teeth. i also dont find it necessary but thats only my experience. as i said before, i noticed no difference in the onset whether i ate them whole, chewed them or broke them in half. the difference is probably small.
 
oh i get you man its all gravy! and i know what you mean, its not REALLY that important, its just a little ritual i do to help myself feel higher. yeah theres a hell of a difference if you had an XR pill then of course it would be WAY diff if you chewed it up or just swallowed. hey man, peace/merry nodding!
 
This thread gives me the impression there is something wrong with chewing them.

Last night I took three 7.5's, I just swallowed the pills, and I was very high.

Not only was I high, I itched, felt a bit dizzy etc.

I don't have a big tolerance, but I do weigh over 200 Lbs.

22.5 milligrams of hydrocodone should get you high if you don't have a tolerance.

I wouldn't underestimate how much could be lost by chewing, even if you wash it down with a drink.
 
no, 22.5 mg should not get you high. there are no shoulds. obviously you have a naturaly higher tolerance than you thought, and believe me. you lose no meds my chewing them up. as already stated it all absorbs either into your mouth or your stomache eventualy. i personaly dont get any stuck ijn my teeth anyways. but yeah doesnt really matter, do it however you prefer~!
 
by the way 80 mg is only decent threshold effects for me. it wont make me super nod. even with no tolerance, back in the day, it took me at LEAST 25 mg to feel a thing
