Hello!

I have sciatica and I currently get 60 5/500 a month for pain. Of course I tend to go a bit overboard with them and have to go through wd's and such. :!

I was wondering, will eventually the doc ask if I need anything stronger? If so what would they typically recommend? Should I ask for something stronger, or would they think I'm crazy. Again, not looking for any medical advise, but just to find out what might the progression be as far as pain meds being prescribed go.

Now, if they give me something like Oxy, how is that feeling in comparison to the codone? I enjoy the upbeat, wired feeling from the codone. Once when I had a stronger dose of codones 10/325, they made me feel very tired and I did not enjoy it AT ALL. Does oxy have the same upbeat feeling art the 5/500 or is it going to be a more of a "nod"feeling, which is what I'm suspecting.

they might give you oxycodone 10/325 but to make the jump to oxycontin you'd have to say you have around the clock pain and that taking the hydrocodone it only helps the pain for 4 to 6 hours and you were hoping for something that lasts longer
 
yup ^^ but i wouldnt go in there saying i need something stronger. its better if they check in and you say that you need round the clock pain relief. most docs are skeptical now a days. me personally i would be happy with what you have, but then again i need like ten to fifteen mg to get a nice buzz.
 
I doubt your doctor will give you oxycodone if you are taking 5/500 hydrocodone. He may up your dose to 7.5/750 or 10/325 norcos before heading towards oxy. if you do get oxy, it is definitely a speedy high.

I prefer a sedating high to oxy but thats just me. If for example, you are a waiter/waitress or someone that is on their feet all day, then its better to go with oxy which will have you moving & thinking okay.
 
There's no way to know what your doctor is going to do, at one clinic alone I've seen 4 doctors make drastically different prescription decisions.

What I do know for certain is that if you have a legitimate need and keep abusing them, before you know it you're going to be fucked because eventually they won't keep prescribing more and you won't be able to get high OR get pain relief from what they'll give you.
