Hydrocodone Vs. Oxycodone

Hi guys, I know this question may be pretty elementary but can anyone elaborate on the differences between these two?
 
To keep it short:
Oxy is more potent
They provide different highs so ppl prefer them differently
Some Oxy preparations don't include apap so they are preferred by those with higher tolerances(or ppl to lazy for CWE's)

Hydro is more sedating, oxy sorta amps you up. But the difference is kinda subtle until the dose is pretty high. If you're asking about the chemistry of the two check erowid or ask in ADD, I'm way to stoned to explain it. Wish they made hydro 80's, I actually prefer it orally, but throw an oxy in a spoon...

I believe they are extracted and synthesized from different parts of the papavera somniferum plant. Hydrocodone, [I believe], comes from codeine, while oxycodone is derived from thebaine. The former might be an extract from thebaine, too, I am not sure, because I know nothing of botany.

However, as people already basically stated, hydrocodone is more sedative, while oxycodone is more euphoric. They are both used to kill pain, but oxycodone, in higher doses, does not contain APAP, while [most of the ones I have seen] hydrocodone pills, [vicadin...lortab, et cetera], usually have acetiminophen or ibuprofen in them. Therefore, oxycodone is much easier to abuse and I guess safer on your liver, since you are just using the straight oxycodone [plus the obvious pill binders], instead of the hydrocodone + tylenol, essentially.

I enjoy oxycodone much more than I do hydrocodone.
 
A 6 Panel is required for Oxycodone to show up. I believe most drug tests include this now.

I believe that both Oxycodone and Hydrocodone are derived and then synthesized from thebaine.

Most Oxycodone products contain much less acetaminophen than Hydrocodone products. There isn't a Hydrocodone product that contains no other substance in combination while there are many Oxycodone products that do. This makes Oxycodone more abusable and Oxycodone is slightly more potent. As I mentioned earlier, I find Hydrocodone more sedating and provides a better nod while in my opinion, Oxycodone is more stimulating and euphoric.

This is the only part not true. The oxycodone medicines used in combination with APAP have the exact same amounts of APAP in most of the preps in hydrocodone.

325, 500, 750 mg of APAP are common in all of these preps.
 
Oxy is stronger and more euphoric, but I have always had the feeling that if they made "Hydrocontin" 100mg I might just prefer snorting them over Oxycontin
 
Yeah, most everyone is summing it up nicely. Oxy is 1.5 times stronger. People 'say' that it is more of an 'upper opiate', while hydro is more sedating. It's really a matter of preference. Hydrocodone is really great but only comes with APAP, while Oxy can come on its own (or with APAP). If you have a high tolerance, therefore, oxy is best as you won't OD on APAP.

It's great to mix the two to get a combination feeling.
 
I like both to varying degrees. ^ and yeah mixing them is the best...mmm...you CAN'T go wrong mixing the two. Unless you OD obviously...but don't mix the two if you don't have some tolerance. For example you'd need at least 20mg of each to feel some effects of both, and with low tolerance that's 40mg of two very powerful opiates, way too much for low tolerance people.

Not gonna answer any drug testing questions...not on BL at least, spend 2 minutes on google you'll find your answers.

Sorry but your wrong. Norco is the only hydrocodone product that actually only contains 325mg Acetaminophen and the Hydrocodone to Acetaminophen ratio is still low. All other contain 500mg and more.

As for Oxycodone preps, none contain more than 325mg with exception to Tylox.

Norco is still a type of hydrocodone prep.

And they do have 400mg 500mg and 650mg of apap in oxy preps.

Yeah, I said that Norco is a Hydrocodone prep. The only with less than 500mg acetaminophen while ALL oxycodone are 325mg or less

Name one oxycodone prep that has 400mg, 500mg or 650mg with exception of Tylox (the worst Oxycodone prep.)
 
I've seen tons of 5mg percocets with 500mg APAP, I think every single 5mg ive ever seen had 500mg APAP in it except for once. I've seen 10mg percocets with 650 mg APAP also. Found a prescription bottle of them. Never seen one with 400mg though
 
Yeah actually there are barely any oxy preps with less than 500mg APAP. Most are 500.
