hydrocodone, trazadone, and cymbalta. safe combo??

I was planning on taking 10mg hydrocodone. I have never used opiods before and take trazadone every night as a sleeping medication. I realize that trazadone is for depression, but CANNOT sleep without taking it at night for some reason. In the mornings, I also takes cymbalta daily for anxiety/depression. Will taking the hydrocodone be safe for me since I am on these other daily meds as well?

Yes it will be fine. Just don't take it within 6 hours of your dose of trazadone. It will be too sedating, and I would worry about you having apnea. Take it earlier in the day. I have prescribed vicodin or hydrocodone based cough syrups for people on both of those medications.

Trazadone is most often prescribed as a sleep medication for people with depression or addiction issues. It is rarely used as an antidepressant on its own anymore. Are you on 50mg or 100, and do you take your Cymbalta in the morning or the evening? If you must take the hydrocodone at night then try splitting your trazadone dose in half, or take 25mg of benadryl instead.
