Quick backstory, then the question.

Thursday night (three days ago), with close to zero tolerance to opiates (I had not done them for about 5 months, and in small amounts even then) I took three Lortab 7.5/500s, and then one more an hour and a half or so later. I felt pretty decent, the dose being 30mg in all, but spaced out over time, although I really wanted a more intense buzz, as I didn't even really nod at all and it lasted a pretty short amount of time. The next night I took half a 10mg instant release zolpidem (ambien) pill, and on Saturday, about 3mg alprazolam (xanax) over the course of the day.

Now my current situation. I have six Lortab 7.5/500s. With the time window the other drugs were taken in, will I be able to get a really good buzz and hopefully nod on 40mgs of Hydrocodone? Will this dose be too high for me, and is there a risk of severe respiratory depression with 40mgs all at once? I have no tolerance to opiates save for what I used on Thursday. What's the best way to go about getting the best buzz on this amount?

Thanks, BLers!

the -codones are pretty hard to nod out on if they are all you are using (some people do though). most people add another other kind of drug to nod on them, but that is not a good idea for someone who is figuring the drug out--significantly increases the chances for dangerous respiratory depression.

maybe reevaluate what you expect from hydrocodone? it is a beautiful day brightener, but not the most intense buzz compared to some of the other opiates. the reason i love it so much is because it is such a "functional" opiate.

40mgs at once is a lot for the average non-tolerant user. i would never recommend that, but that does not mean it is not the dose you'd love. people vary. be careful.

My mistake, 6 of those would be 45mg. I just assumed I'd have tolerance from my 30mgs from a few days ago, and that since 30mg was not that intense (to me), it'd probably be a good number...I guess it's all relative when it comes down to it. Thoughts?

Thanks for the input, Hydro :) I use opiates so rarely due to availability that I come off as a complete newbie when I talk about them.

50mg is about what it takes for me to get a really good thing going with hydrocodone, and I have almost zero tolerance... but you also have to factor in things like mass, stomach contents etc. I'm 6'2", 285lbs, so that is part of why my preferred dose is higher than the average naive dose.

Redosing opiates seems ineffective and a waste. Doesn't do much than prolong the high a little. Only exception in my opinion is oxymorphone. Maybe you should try the 30mg all at once instead of 22.5mg + 7.5mg an hour later. Or maybe you could try 37.5mg. Take it all at once. 45mg may be a tad too much for someone without a tolerance but if your dead set on doing it then I can't stop you.

Don't expect too much, if you do you'll be disappointed. A "nod" is just something that happens, there is no dose someone could suggest because you'll never know when you get it. So take what you plan and lay down with the expectation of just feeling relaxed. If you are moving around chances are you won't nod off.

I'll report back for the sake of anyone interested in results and mods can close this if they feel like it :)

Ended up taking 4 of them, totalling 30mg, which resulted in a pretty good buzz, then the other spaced apart one hour each an hour after the first four. Ended up very sedated, though the comedown was a bit harsh. By the end of the night, was nodding a bit and having trouble staying fully "there". Moderate respiratory depression but nothing scary.

Took 700mg Milk Thistle this afternoon for liver support. Silly acetaminophen.
