So I haven't taken hydrocodone very much I was turned off by it when I took it once and it made me very nauseated. Well I tried a 5mg/500 a month or so ago and i didn't feel anything. I took one and a half of the same dose for an ear infection a couple days later and it didn't do much. Nothing spectacular. Well a week or so later I take a 5mg/500 and I felt this awesome feeling and I'm very confused about it. Liked that so a few days later I took a 10mg/500. And two hours later I get extremely lightheaded, feel like I'm going to pass out and have a panic attack at the same time my pulse was through the roof and I was scared took about an hour to get back to normal and never felt good at all. I was annoyed. Couple days ago took 2.5mg out of fear and felt nothing but nausea... Why do you think the ten did that to me and why all the different effects?? I just know that one time it really made me feel good when I tool a 5mg was amazing. (I'm female about 125lbs)

The effects of Opiates are highly subjective, and the feeling which one person may love, another may perceive as awful or even as a sick feeling. Also, many people do not enjoy Opiates the first or even second time they try them. They may never enjoy them despite repeat attempts. It's really hard to say in your case what exactly is happening, but I'd guess the 10/500 that made you feel ill and panicky was due to you simply taking a little too much as a non-tolerant user.

If you're going to try it again, try only 5mg and go from there, since that worked well for you in the past. My girlfriend loves taking 2.5mg at a time, and 5mg if she really wants to relax. If she takes 10mg, or even 7.5, she gets sick.

IMO it hit you a little harder than you expected.
As a result, you got nervous and had a panic attack or something very close.

I had something like this happen with some kick-ass weed, years ago.
I was unprepared for how stoned I was, and as a result, had a panic attack. Felt just like you described.

i think the doses your talking about are too petty to really effect you. your talking about taking one 5mg pill of a the 2nd weakest commonly perscribed opiate ( codeine is weakest mg per mg ) and not even crushing it in water and drinking or anything to make it hit you faster, your just popping it. good hydrocodone doses for a new user are 20-25mg.

No, its not the second weakest! Mg per mg Morphine is weaker than Hydrocodone. Where did you get your info? lol

Well atleast I know that now. I felt like I was going to pass right out. I keep trying em again chasing that feeling I got from that one really good experience. I've been prescribed percocet 5mg several times and they were always great but itchy. I do prefer those from always giving me a great feeling instead of mixed feelings and effects but it's been years since I had those.

CORRECT!!!!!!!!!

I have been reading about hydro. being a "super weak opiate" all damn day!
In reality, it is quite potent, considering it's high oral BA.
The only thing that handicaps hydro. is you can't get it pure, absent a compounded tab.

Otherwise, I believe it would be used just like Oxy. is, currently. It's just not that much weaker.

Well why did that 5 make me feel so high if 20 to 25mg a good starting dose?? I'd never take that much I'm small with a low tolerance

I think that one dude is the only one talking that shit about 25mg.
For a opiate naive person, 5-10mg of hydro. is plenty for pain.

Wow thats a very low dose to have such a bad reaction...trust me you werent overdosing (lol..)

Maybe hydrocodone doesn't work well for you. One of my good friends cant take hydro's because he feels strange and starts getting sick like crazy.

For pain, 5-10 would be a good dose

For gettiing a high for non tolance id say 15-25

Be careful and dont worry about ODing your fine ;)

First of all, if 5mg made you feel great, and 10mg made you feel ill, you've pretty much got your answer regarding a reasonable future dose. If you didn't feel good from 10mg, definitely don't increase that dose to 25mg. Start small- you can always add but you can't take away. A favorite 'cliched' bit of advice here in BL, but true nonetheless.

Second, an overdose doesn't necessarily have to result in death or a near death experience, it can simply mean that a person took more than the recommended therapeutic dose of a drug, or just more than they should have taken based on their tolerance, and experienced adverse effects.

I hate the 5 mg and 10 mg hydros. for some reason the 7.5 mg have always worked best. i pop 3 ata time but a woman your size with no tolerance one outta get ya feeling good.yup yup just give one 7.5 mg a try and u will be good

you were right about the morphine that is weaker than hydro mg for mg. what i mean is that hydrocodone is like the least euphoric and least effective for pain. i mean its like the first thing you get perscribed for pain, even before percs. for people who have opiate habit hydrocodone would probably just about everybodys last choice. a doctor will first give you hydrocodone, then oxycodone apap, then may 30 mg IR, then long acting opiates. ive been thru the whole thing. hydrocodone isnt weakest mg for mg, but its the least effective for pain, and def the least euphoric, thats why nearly everyone gets it for their first pain management script. its just a shitty drug to get high on. it would be cool if they made 40 or 50mg IR hydrocodone ( 1mg of hydrocodone equals .9mg of oxy according to one narcotic dosage converter ) but they dont, they just make weak pills full of apap

back to Lilady1985's original statement, I also noticed a huge difference from taking a 10mg rather than 2 5.5's.
Two of the 5.5's was fine but 10mg gave me the light headed "creepy" feeling, along the same lines, I can take 3 of the 5.5's and feel great but just one of the 7.5mg i get the same yucky feeling.
Don't really get that
