Hydrocodone Question - Safe amount plus alcohol

Hi everyone,

I was wondering how much hydrocodone it's generally safe to take over the course of an hour or two? I'm suffering from some severe tooth pain and have a leftover prescription for 7.5mg vicoprofens (it's hydrocodone and 200 mg ibuprofen) which I'm trying to take to help until the morning. I've already taken two and I'm still in a little pain but don't want to OD or make myself sick.

I'm a girl, 5'5" and 110 pounds with close to no tolerance if that helps.. thanks so much! Also, will I be okay to drink in 18 hours or so? Of course something like this happens on my 22nd birthday Thanks again!

I would think someone with no tolerance could handle 30mg hydrocodone (4- 7.5mg pills)
As when i started opiates with absolutely no tolerance at all i could take 20mg oxycodone (1/4th an OC 80) or a 30mg blue roxi (1pill) at most (oxycodone is stronger than hydrocodone as im sure you know).. than of course tolerance came and kicked my ass, ended up with a tolerance to 2- 80s/day.. not as bad as most people here but still dependent and an addiction.
But i would think that if you have already taken 2, you could take another 1-2 pills safely.. you might get high off it though. But sometimes people who are legitimately taking it for pain only get pain relief and no *high* to speak of, only a feeling of *relief* if that makes sense.

Be as safe as possible!.. And also be as conservative as possible with the drug (take the least amount needed to kill the pain, not over dosing)

*And for the second part of your question.. NO if you take anymore pills than you have already taken and have no tolerance, do NOT drink while on them*

I am sorry to hear about your pain that you are experiencing, on your birthday of all days. But in the future please refrain from putting "Help ASAP" and things like that in your title. Bluelight is a fairly popular and busy message board, and your question will definitely be answered, relatively quickly. HooD covered it pretty well, so I don't have much to add. Drinking WHILE you are under the influence isn't a good idea, but 18 hours is a decent amount of time to wait, and by that time a few drinks wouldn't kill you. The combination of ibuprofen + alcohol DOES increase the chances of stomach irritation, ulcers, and bleeding. So just play it safe and be careful.

As hood said, regarding the hydrocodone, 30mg is the max I'd recommend because you could get extremely nauseous if you exceed what you can handle and the ibuprofen may exacerbate this. If you wanted to, you could Cold Water Extract (remove the hydrocodone) but this is time consuming and really unnecessary unless you are taking larger amounts.

I wouldn't surpass 800mg of the ibuprofen and even then, you may experience some gastric discomfort so to be safe, I'd say not to consume over 600mg every 4-6 hours unless you have done so previously without any GI issues. If you insist on taking 800mg worth of the ibuprofen (30mg of hydrocodone) I'd recommend taking an antacid or having some on hand just in case.

Since this is a pretty basic dosing question so I'll ship this over to BDD... if you do infact wait the 18 hours, you should be fine with the alcohol. I would certainly not mix vicoprofen with alcohol unless you REALLY know how you handle all active constituents and are angry at your GI system for some reason.

Of course, everyone differs quite drastically when it comes to psychoactives, espesially depressants. But I will give my own opinion from numerous (hundreds) if experiances. I, generally will not take an opiate (I only inject opiates BTW) unless I've been drinking a nice amount- it seems the opiate is wasted if I don't have alcohol in my system. The only exception is early in the morning when I just wake up for police college or a security contract, then it's more like a cup of coffee. Well, sorry I've drank about a 10 shots and injected 40mgs of Oxy and 4mg of Dilaudid, lol. But my point is, in my case opiates aren't complete without alcohol, unlesss used as a sort of boost in the morning...so don't fret about drinking later...espessially 18 hours later! And Hydrocodone is not a dangerous opiate, one can take surprisingly high amounts of that and be just fine. Don't fret, girl.

i would think you would puke, thats a big dose of hydrocodone with no tolerance which can make you sick, and any time iv had more then 600mg of ibuprofen iv puked. combine that with the hydrocodone i think you would puke.

Take all of them its such a weak drug and u might aswell have a lil fun. Take 15 at most but the overdose limit is high if anythings dangerous its the ibuprofen

Don't tell someone to just 'take them all'.. You don't know how many she has in her bottle. Taking a bunch of hydrocodone+ibuprofen with no tolerance, and then drinking later on in the day is a sure fire way to either OD, get very sick, or cause ulcers/stomach bleeding. Sure, she MAY have fun, but dangerous advice like this doesn't belong here on bluelight.
