hydrocodone polistirex...extended release question

If 5ml of hydrocodone polistirex is equivelent to 10mg of hydrocodone bitartrate, is that 10mg for each hour or 10mg over 12 hours? I'm guessing it's the latter...
also,
from Rxlist.com:
must not be diluted with fluids or mixed with other drugs as this may alter the resin-binding and change the absorption rate, possibly increasing the toxicity
Does that apply to water, dexedrine, etc.? For example, if you were to take 50% of the hydrocodone polistirex out of a container and replace it with water, will this effect anything, including toxicity or absorption rate? Obviously the amount of hydrocodone will be ~5mg.
Is there a way to get around this time release mechenism?
Thanks.

The only way to get around this time-release would be to chemically alter the drug itself as it isn't a little coating you can peel off like on OCs. I'd imagine you'd have to convert the HC Polistirex to freebase hydrocodone and then somehow change it to our old friend HC Bitartrate. Unfortunately I have no idea how this would be accomplished.
And 5mg of HC Polistirex would probably relieve pain longer than a 10mg HC Bitartrate, but from the recreational point-of-view it's not as good. 30mg of the time-release would make you feel less warm and fuzzy than the old stuff, but it would last longer. I guess if you ate like 60-70mg of the polistirex stuff you might be able to get the same effects of 25-35mg bitartrate, only lasting much longer, but that's just a guess on my part, so don't blame me if you die from it.
And I don't understand this "increasing toxicity" thing they have spoken of. Perhaps it just means that the hydrocodone will be absorbed into your body faster? DXM polistirex comes with no such warnings (I assume this warning applies only to the polistirex and not the bitartrate).
So, that concludes my big long post that doesn't really help at all. But maybe it'll draw the attention of someone who actually knows what they're talking about.

thanks for you reply...
No, no. I won't kill myself! heh. I take about 40mg at a time and I'm buzzed all day. The antihystamine in the syrup makes me very spleepy.
Yes. I s'pose getting aroud the polistirex would be very hard and not worth the time.
This is the best hydrocodone syrup I've ever tried, and I've tried a lot. It keeps you buzzed for a good 7-8 hours. The only downside is the antihistamine in it...
