Hydrocodone: How long after dosing are you safe from OD?

Hey Guys,

Firstly, the purpose of this post is I have panic disorder. About just about anything.

Anyways, I recently bumped up my recreational dose and I have a panic fit every time I have to bump it up. :(

My curiousity is, how long after taking my dose can I feel safe to go to sleep without fear of dying? (Yeah, I'm that bad with the panic. And, I'm not talking about liver failure that can occur like 48 hours after dose because I get rid of the tylenol in it.)

I just bumped up to a 70mg hydrocodone dose and the thought of being in the 70s scared me. I stayed awake like 15 hours after my dose and I would've stayed up longer if my body would've let me. I ended up being fine (hence my posting).

Can I generally feel safe after:

* The euphoria wears off
* The half-life of approximately 4 hours is reached
* Double the half life?

For harm reduction purposes, approximately how long after dosing can one feel safe to go to sleep if they are worried about dying in their sleep or something very bad happening?

I've gotten bad panic attacks for the same reason. Waiting a little over the half-life should be fine. That dose is unlikely to kill anyone with even a low-moderate tolerance, so try to relax and enjoy the high. If its been over 4 hours and you aren't nodding like crazy and looking pale and turning blue in the lips then you are ok to go to sleep.

Thanks. I've never had any symptoms like that but I just hate the feeling of losing control when I go to sleep.

I figured the half life was probably about when I could say it was safe. Half the drugs out of your system and it's just going to keep going down.

Ironic that hydro's take away my anxiety and occasionally cause it.
