Hydrocodone dosage

ok I have looked around and I haven't been able to find an answer for this question. I know that taking large amounts of hydrocodone can be very bad for you because most hydrocodone pills like Vicodin and whatnot have acetaminophen which at high doses can cause death or liver problems. But my question is this; is hydrocodone itself toxic? like if you took a large amount of hydrocodone that didn't contain any other drugs like APAP, could you die? Sorry if this has been asked before but I'm curious. If this has, please close this thread mods, sorry for any inconvenience.

You could die by overdose of the narcotic, yes. It is a CNS depressant so... you could stop breathing if you take too much. There is no 'this amount = death' formula, it is highly varying from person to person (tolerance, experience, body chem, etc).

Overdosing on hydrocodone is the same as overdosing on heroin OP. They are both opiates and act almost exactly the same. Heroin is just more potent so you can overdose on less which makes it more dangerous.

^yup. and the common ROA with heroin makes it much more difficult (impossible) to vommit up. if heard someone died from a large dose of only hydrocodone--and i was a sociopath--the first thought to pop up in my head would be, "how did they not just throw that right back up?"

but anyway, the answer is yes. fatal respritory depression and vomit related asphixation are both possible with hydrocodone alone. not really any point in leaving this open so even more users can add their "yes." i think three's enough.
