Opioids Hydrocodone CWE then evaporation, to get powder for sniffing? Yes or no?

So. I would like to do a CWE of some Vicodin pills, then put a plate over the jar or something and boil all the water away. Hopefully I can collect some pure Hydrocodone?

My questions are: will this work, will it yield a powder or crystal, and should I do it?

I searched for this pretty extensively but couldn't really find anything definite. At most everyone seems to argue over it. So I figured a topic devoted to it wouldn't hurt.

the best way to use HC is orally, so I don't really see the point.

^^^ "boiling off" the water would, at best, destroy some of the hydro. As they said, evaporating doesn't really work, though I personally haven't tried it. Besides, hydrocodone is DEFINITELY a pro-drug; thus snorting it would affect the hydromorphone yield. Not to mention, the BA would probably be significantly lower, and definantly not any better. Just think, "oxycodone", except that it has (basically) no action on it's own.

In conclusion, don't do it!

I think boiling it to evaporate it wouldnt be a good idea ; boiling it might destroy the Hydrocodone.If anything dump the liquid on something that has alot of surface area , like a plate & let it evaporate that way.As for the resulting powder , i dont know...IMO , id say just drink the liquid , thats pretty much the point of CWE.Iv'e personally done a few CWE's and drinking it worked real well!It hit me fast and alot harder than if i would of just ate the pills.

The only way to evap it would be in a convection oven in a shallow pyrex dish at about 150*F. Hydrocodone starts degrading at 170.

EDIT: oh and i should prolly mention to leave the oven door open when doing so as to not destroy product

Even if your technique is perfect, the most you'll get is a very modest increase in efficiency since the oral BA is 80%+ but more likely you'll be wasting a lot of time, doing more damage to your sinuses and potentially your lungs and so forth for a DECREASE in bioavailability since it's likely less than the oral so is this all really worth it for a slightly diminished onset time?

Doesn't Hydrocodone have to be processed by the liver and converted into Hydromorphone? Thus making it a non-snortable Pro-drug?

For your own health, don't do that.

^^^Pretty much. People's obsession with putting good drugs up they're nose will always dumbfound me. Though, perhaps not as much as putting them up your ass...

^ there are actually advantages to rectal administration and it's typically safer than intranasal. With that said, I've never personally utilized that route of administration and I've snorted the weight of a small colombian child in cocaine, but to each his own
