Which is the better combo as far as being safer for you? Ive done both combos & feel that the combo of hydorcodone with Soma is better, altho I still like Hydrocodone with ativan because of the mental buzz I get.

I personally enjoy hydrocodone (or any other opioid for that matter) with a benzo (preferably temazepam). Soma is good, but I like benzos better.

Neither of the combos are safe. It's never safe to mix CNS depressants together, but of course we all do it (including myself) - but you just have to know your limits. You know your tolerance level and what your body can handle best.

With benzos, there are vast differences in their fatal toxicity index - the benzo that's least toxic and least to cause an overdose is oxazepam and the one that's most toxic and the deadliest is temazepam - everything in between varies. These are things to be taken into consideration.

Go here to see some of the fatal toxicity indices for some benzos.

You can always try hydrocodone, benzo and musclerelaxant together if you into experiment good combos. But look out for something better suitable than Soma like tizanidin for example.

Hydrocodone and a Soma is sometimes referred to as a Las Vegas cocktail.

Having some tolerance, I have been known to take all 3 regularly just to get a handle on the stress and pain. As was mentioned, care needs to be taken to avoid the combination from telling your brain to stop breathing.

It is best to take small steps and be a little disappointed in the lack of a great buzz than to do a lot and make the obituaries.

Which is better? That's a personal choice based on why you are ingesting them in the first place. I am usually trying to get the muscle spasms and neck pain to go away. Some of my "tightness" is due to feeling stressed about shit, so that is what I am medicating for.

Warning: adding alcohol to the above, especially in large amounts can be a lethal combination.

Ive got a shit ton of both from back injuries.. dont care for either they put me str8 to sleep.

Yea hydrocodone plus valium is the best imo...
but i really don't like soma.. i don't like the feeling..

Hmm.....I might have to try the hydrocodone+valium combo, I wonder if it will get me as tired as the other 2 combos I stated above.

^ most likely.

If you really need / want to stay awake, a simple 5 hour energy shot from the convenience store will do the trick so you can enjoy the benefits of the pharmaceuticals. Or a couple of cups of coffee or dr. pepper's might be enough, also. :)

Odd, I have done Hydro and Soma together on several occasions and felt nothing out of the ordinary.

Soma alone doesn't do much for me except what its supposed to do, relive pain, but no buzz ;(

misszee007, Soma is a good muscle relaxer and is on the same schedule as hydrocodone because it is can be addictive. Combined with an opiate, it can be beneficial in relieving pain.

I often use a different muscle relaxer during the day so I can take two of them at bed time and actually feel it do its job since I have been prescribed it for awhile. I have read in some other threads where some people tout large doses of it can be taken at one time. I remember being surprised at the quantities some of the experts here were saying was relatively safe to take.

Search and research here and elsewhere should be done before dosing beyond what was originally prescribed.

Soma is only scheduled in some states, most do not have it scheduled under the Controlled Substance Act. The states that do have it scheduled have it put under Schedule IV. Hydrocodone is a Schedule II substance on its own, but it's a Schedule III substance when less than 15 mg of hydrocodone is combined with APAP, ibuprofen, etc.

Soma is a scheduled drug in my state :(

Its been tough to get Soma in AZ ever since some lady got shot by a cop for trying to get a fake script filled in the pharmacy drive through. After an argument about the authenticity of the script a cop happened to be right behind her when they got the call and when she was told to stay put but she drove off and was shot in the head. All for a script of 60 Soma. It was all over the news and it happened at the same pharmacy I go to. "Lady shot at pharmacy filling a fake narcotic script" Now all my doctors call Soma a narcotic.

Oh that sucks man! Soma is still unscheduled in Michigan (my state). There are only a handful of states that have scheduled it and put it under Schedule IV. It's not federally controlled - I think it's state authorities acting on their own. I was just replying to the one poster who said Soma is in the same schedule as hydrocodone - which is totally false. Hydrocodone is a Schedule II/III substance, while Soma is a Schedule IV substance where it is scheduled.

In Michigan, I can ask for a script from my doctor for Soma and he'll write it without hesitation or nothing. It's like asking the doctor for an ibuprofen 600 mg script. Easy as pie.

I stand corrected. A quick google confirmed what kokaino said.

Reports of Soma abuse have resulted in a number of states scheduling Soma as a controlled substance. States that have taken this action are Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, and West Virginia. Soma is not scheduled at the federal level.

I think Texas does, too. I had to "sign the schedule sheet" when I refilled my prescription there while traveling.
