I was wondering if anyone has any bioavailability data or first-hand experience regarding non-traditional routes of administration for pure Hydrocodone (specifically insufflation / sublingual).

I recently got in touch with a source for compounded 20mg Hydrocodone IR for < 3/4 the price of the typical 10/500 Watson 540s =D (as far as equivalent dose goes), which is a godsend for when I need them for my back pain (2 herniated discs; no longer go to pain mgmt dr).

I'm mainly interested in experiences with sublingual dosing of unadultered HC powder; when it comes to pain, the quicker the onset, the better. Primary interests would be onset, duration, and perceived potency / BA as compared to oral.

I'd also like to hear the same in regards to intranasal administration / insufflation. I'm not really contemplating dosing via insufflation, but am interested nonetheless.

Oral admin of good quality compounds (yes, there are bad ones.. I've had 30mgs that were worse than 10mg tabs) works great, feels cleaner, seems to last longer, etc... However; there are times when a faster and possibly harder hitting method of admin would be preferable due to pain intensity.

Sublingual should work good I imagine, as what ever is not absorbed sublingually will just be swallowed and absorbed orally (and hydrocodone has a high oral BA). I imagine that the onset would be quicker this way. If hydrocodone is like oxycodone, insufflation might actually have a lower BA, but it will have the advantage of a much faster come on. I've heard plugging works quite well with hydrocodone, and that would have the quickest onset (short of iv, which you shouldnt do with hydro)and probably a good BA, but I don't honestly know.

If you are using it for strictly pain intranasaly will not be very effective due to it's quick onset and short duration. You can IV pure Hydrocodone I believe, but i'm guessing that isn't an option for you. The best way is either going to be parachuting or plugging it, only had experience with para before but have read tons of reports that find plugging to be extra effective. If you do it right, whatever ROA you choose will have you feeling comfortably numb in no time.
