Opioids Hydrocodone 10/325 oversdose

It is said that it takes 90mg of hydrocodone to be fatal. And mixing it with alcohol makes hydrocodone even more dangerous. I read that someone took a third of a bottle of hydrocodone and lots of alcohol and only got sick (throwing up). Is it unlikely that you could die of a hydrocodone/acetaminophen overdose? At the supposed fatal hydrocodone amount of 90mg that's just 9 10/325 pills. And 9 pills of 10/325 would be about 3g of acetaminophen. Which is almost the fatal amount of 4g.

Thanks,

-Tyler

As far as Hydrocodone, with a heavy opiate tolerance 90 mg could be a light dosage. When I was at my peak tolerance I'd routinely take amounts that would kill someone.
So it all depends on tolerance here.

As far as APAP, I puke at anything over 1500mg.
I have a feeling that if I took 3 grams I would definitely puke my brains out pretty fast.
It would depend how quickly they threw up after taking it, and how much is actually digeste. Not sure but 3 grams could possibly kill someone if they didn't vomit.

4 grams is nowhere near a "fatal amount" of apap to a healthy person. It is(or was) the amount that one should not exceed in a day. It may not be great for your liver but many hydrocodone/codeine users take similar amounts without dying. That being said, you certainly shouldn't be taking large doses of apap for any extended period of time.

Alcohol + tylenol = potential liver damage, or worse.

As far as 90mg, remember that we all have different tolerance & metabolism.

I've taken 150mg of 10/650 & 10/325 hydro in the past throughout the day. It was a stupid move, but not lethal.

However, I wouldn't advise others to do that..especially with zero tolerance & mixing with alcohol. That's crazy.

90mgs is not the lethal point for hydrocodone there are many factors at play some brands such as Vicodin have 500mg apap and 5mg hydrocodone but also have pills which contain 325mgs apap and 5 or 10mg hydrocodone.
I used to routinely take 90 mgs hydrocodone that doesn't put much stain on the body at all but the apap is what is playing the toxic role on the body. If you have pure hydrocodone then you could take pretty big doses depending on your tolerance without liver damage. This is why for long term pain management patients its better to have opiates prescribed without acetaminophen in them.

It all depends on the person really some people are more sensitive to apap than others for instance I have met people on here who take 20 10/325mg vicodins at a time sometimes multiple times a day and they are still kicking. Then ive seen others who took a one time dose of 3000mgs and ended up with liver pain and vomiting so it all depends on the person really. I used to take 10 000mgs or more of acetaminophen each day until my liver ran into troubles a couple years later. Whereas my mom took 50 of the 8mg codeine/325mg apap over the counter pills every day for 10 years and she has hardly any liver issues her numbers are fine when she gets tested. 3000mgs is the daily limit it says on every bottle of acetaminophen in the USA (Still 4000 in Canada) but this doesn't mean that is the fatal dose far from it. All it mean is if you take more than that amount daily for extended periods you are at risk for liver damage. The fatal dose is more around 10 000mgs but even so people take that much being idiots and popping pills like candy. It will eventually catch up though with time no matter how you process it some just get away with it for longer than others.
