Hunger & Opiates

I get very hungry after using Vicodin or any other opiate. The hunger I get from an opiate is worse than smoking weed. I wish I could take Vicodin w/o getting hungry but it seems no matter how much I eat before I dose, I get hungry an hour after I dose.

Also, I see people say they cant take a piss or its difficult too pee when on opiates. Im the opposite, I pee every 30 minutes & it comes out like a water fall & it frustrates me.


Anyone else fall under these situations?

When I was using opiates every single day I used to crave icecream/junk food the way that stoners say they crave the same type of foods. When I got off of opiates I lost 15 pounds(also due to the stims I used on the weekends). I am at a place now where I am trying to take less than 10mg's of hydros just to "take the edge off of work" and I can feel the snack hunger coming back!

I get that from most opiates especially morphine. I crave fatty junk food, sweets, ice cream and basically anything that tastes really good and is bad for you. Thats why if im on a steady diet of morphine i tend to put abit of weight on but when i go off opiates i lose weight.

Since i smoke weed alot the hunger is double bad for me. The munchies i get from morphine or other strong opiates is way worse then the muchies i get from weed too.

Haha, its crazy to be more hungry on opiates than weed. I dont eat junk food at all, I tend to eat healthier off opiate use, maybe thats why im always hungry.

Wait, you put on weight while on opiates? That's crazy!

I can't eat, well I usually just don't, I find that a food, leads to making me tired, When I'm using daily, I'll always try and have some breakfast, it's amazing how long you can go for, just on milk and corn flakes!
I always crave chocolate a little before my next dose is coming around, or a short while before my habit picks up again...

When I first started opiates, I couldn't even *think* about food or I would throw up. It was the weirdest thing--Someone would mention food, I'd start to think about it, and bam, I'd throw up.

After I developed quite a tolerance to opiates, I was a bottomless pit when it came to junk food. I could eat an enormous amount of food with no satiety whatsoever. I found that if I drank a lot of water (talkin' 20-30oz in a couple minutes) and then had a couple small, slow bites of whatever it was I got the humongous craving for, that that would satisfy the craving. I still didn't feel full but I no longer wanted whatever it was I had a craving for.

As far as peeing while on opiates, sometimes I had to pee almost as bad as after drinking alcohol, other times I didn't have to pee at all--Even after drinking the 20-30oz to curb the food cravings.

Vicodin and percocet make me hungry.. but oddly roxis and opana make me lose my appetite... weird shit.

Yep, I experienced this as well when I used to use opiates. All opiates. heroin included.

the thought of food became amazing, any food. sweets especially, which is funny considering I eat very healthy -most- of the time.
