Human connection, is there an alternative to MDMA?

Night of my 25th birthday. 8 grams of very dehydrated P.cubensis. Busy as fuark nightclub.....how do you form thoughts again??? bahahaha
When I did any doses above 5g I got to be by myself in a very dark room for the peak or else I feel like I am wasting my time.

Dude, I think we're getting off topic....or maybe naught. We should ask a fun guy.

Idk? LSD is structurally similar to serotonin, like N,N DMT & DMT. I always assumed these molecules simply attached to what ever receptors serotonin normally hits in order to produce the trip.

I could be wrong.

Ah I see what you mean now. Yes they're all serotonergic compounds, meaning they all act on the 5-HT family of receptors - however unlike MDxx compounds, Psilocybin, DMT, LSD, etc don't have any affinity for SERT (Serotonin transporter) and therefore shouldn't be causing any kind of serotonin RELEASE as such - they just agonise the same receptors, which can lead to similar sensations and feelings :)

THAT BEING SAID - I could, and likely am, wrong in some way :P

This is correct. LSD is very structurally similar to the serotonin molecule itself, so instead of releasing 5-HT, it binds to the sites causing the large psychedelia.

Personally, I believe that the magic of MDMA pales in comparison to the magic of mescaline. There is a synthetic and forced overlay to the MDMA experience that you don't get from mescaline and I find that anything I experience with mescaline sticks with me unlike MDMA where a relationship that was off to a great start came to an apocalyptic end, friendship or otherwise, as soon as the comedown kicked in. If you are seeking the deep connection, you just can't beat a true psychedelic.

I think this thread just proves the differences between people, and that you need to experience things yourself.

Cause I definitely wouldn't recommend psychedelics for a great 'human connection' drug. Shrooms give me mad anxiety, and benzos don't combine well with them (just kind of ends your trip), unlike with weed, MDMA, or other entactogenic drugs, where weed is a great addition.

Honestly, as I mentioned earlier in another thread... I'd start with good ole weed and valium/etizolam. Great little social combo, and safe to boot.

Then do your research with other empathogenic/entactogenic chems.

I'll be going out again on mushrooms this coming weekend (hardstyle event, and saving my next roll for my birthday mid next month). I'll report back here with my opinion on how useful/useless shrooms were for nightclub socialising and "human connection" in this regard on Sunday most likely :) Given I'm not going out to meet people/pick up like I usually would when on MDMA, I won't be so much worried about the fact my inhibitions will still be somewhat present. Hopefully I don't cop any anxiety lol, but then again as per the previous point - I won't really be giving a shit since I'm out for the music :D probably also helps I'm no longer single as of yesterday LOL

But you're talking about shrooms... Tryptamines are generally a no-no for sensitive situations but phenethylamines are perfect (case in point - MDMA is a phenethylamine). Mescaline happens to be a phenethylamine too and its pretty damn hard to have a bad trip on it unless you way overshoot the dose or are in sleep dep or some other condition that would ruin any psychedelic experience. Weed and benzos is going to lead to you forgetting most of it and neither drug is really known to be a facilitator of human connection...

I find that mushrooms facilitate a deep human connection in the one-on-one situation of two or more people tripping together in the proper set and setting. In a club amongst a bunch of strangers I come off more like a raving lunatic and unless I found just right person, I won't be making the kind of connection we're talking about in this thread.

^^^ that said, I did meet my wife at a club. I was tripping on freshly picked mushrooms and she was drunk (enough so that her drink literally slipped out of her hand while we were talking). I think we both misinterpreted everything the other was saying in the such a perfect way that eventual matrimony was the only course.

Good thought on the class of substance. Too bad there doesn't seem to be any way to take actual phenylethylamine, PEA.
