Did anyone see this episode? I am still getting to the end, but am shocked at their depiction of belladonna leaf tea. While he end up in the hospital first he ends up getting out without seeming to have a lot of difficulties besides seeing his dead young daughter grown up talking to him. I am barely through the episode and while the trip qualities seem pretty well thought out it really seems like they make it seem less harmful than it really is. They repeatedly refer to it as a "drug," "powerful hallucinogen," and just everything it is not vs. a delerient caused by very toxic compounds.

Just curious on others opinion of this episode if they seen it.

It is a TV show... I felt it fit in drugs in the media, but I will read the guide lines and find out. It was drugs referenced in a drama TV show, which is part of the media and less drug culture as the show is not part of belladonna culture.

Edit: Ah I see it is drugs in news stories.... My bad.... I could get a review of the episode if that helps. Drug culture does sound like the next best place to change it.

Sorry all the posts so far have been about where to put this thread. I moved it from BDD to DC, as it's not appropriate for BDD, but in retrospect it probably could've gone in Film & Television as well. Oh well, the DC mods can move it there if they think it's better suited.

I haven't seen the episode, but if they are minimizing the dangers and inaccuately describing the effects, that is a shame. Certainly not uncommon though - tv shows and movies are filled with inaccuracies about drugs (which drives me nuts).

Well the effects are somewhat right, but he ended up in the hospital early on and recovered almost instantly and was really tripping balls in a way that seemed to really represent belledona. The only issue is there was no mention of the fact it is a poison and the long term damage from it as well as he seemed to stop tripping not after 3 days, but once he came to the conclusion of the trip. It was actually a really good representation, but they just did not stress the dangers enough and probably ended up inspiring people to look it up and try it with the way it was referred to as a "powerful psychedelic" vs. a deleriant.

For anyone who has not seen the show I recommend it. It is a very good show.
