Heroin Huge Allergic Reaction to H?

Long time blue light reader, always found the answers i was looking for throughout the forums and never needed to join. Glad to be a part of the party now!

So I've been an opiate user for 3 years now via oral and insufflation ROA's in the past month I've been IVng tar.

Unfortunately I have already run into some complications. about 30 minutes ago I put about a G into my cooker and mixed it into 4 shots. 2 with about 3ml of water and two with 7-8 ml.

I proceeded to use one of the smaller mixes in my left wrist using the main vein on top. Registered, pushed and then felt the burn and stopped knowing I had slipped out (couldn't have been more than .5ml missed....) Continued looking for a spot to finish up and before continuing realized my entire forearm had turned red in reaction! I've had similar reactions but never the entire arm, and usually only around the injection site.

This time the injection site remained normal and about 2 inches up almost my entire arm up to just below the elbow went red.

What on earth caused such a big reaction? This was about 30 minutes ago and it's back to normal now thankfully.
 
I've had things like this happen, even when I haven't missed( well I didn't think I missed). I'm not sure what it is in it that causes the severe reaction . I notice it more with china than tar. Alotta times I get a warm raised welt looking spot with red around it. It's not painful n always goes away soon. I've been iv'ing H for 2 years and never had any lasting problem. Hope this helps! I'd say just make sure everything your using is clean, use alcohol wipes on the injection site before n after n you shld have no worries:)
 
thanks alikat! I always try to practice clean methods as suggested. The strangest thing about it is I did another shot that came out of the same spoon, same batch, and everything on the other arm and absolutely nothing happened. It was a bigger shot too! Only difference was that the smaller shot was in a needle i had used once before... and the bigger in a brand new rig. Could this have something to do with it?
 
Histamine reaction, happens with some opiates. Dope is by far the worst

Swollen, hives, itchy, red and white, bumpy, all from histamine

Technically yes it's sort of an allergic reaction, but nothing to worry about.

Just happens when a drop or two doesn't get straight into the vein
 
it can happen when you're IVing; my girl had this happen every few weeks when she was shooting. maybe dirty product, dirty cotton, dirty equipment [cotton fever], partially missed shot and/or histamine release. just use OTCs to manage symptoms: diphenhydramine or loratadine for swelling, itching and hives, maybe acetaminophen or aspirin if you feel feverish. it should clear up pretty quick.
 
This has happened to me before when I have missed a little bit of a shot in my hand. also in my arm. I'll go away soon, nothing to worry about IMO
