You can't put a container like that in the garbage here like it recommends, it's illegal. Eco stations will accept them, if labelled with sharps, but they prefer you take them to a clinic/pharmacy. I asked about using a screw cap container for when I'm out, and I'm told I can't put it into something like that, I need an approved sharps container. I haven't found a decent travel sized one.
