Hiya

I am having done problems with my CWE and not actually wanting to die I need some advice.

I have never had problems getting a clear CWE from Solpadol capsules but the GP is now giving me the generic 30/500s still capsules but usually Zapain. Since using these it didn't matter how much I filter I still get a cloudy solution. It's this Apap or is it just fillers? I am getting a good amount of gunk on my filters but I feel like it should be much clearer from the process.

Help? My liver will love you.

Sorry, I can't help you here. I've never had success with CWE, no matter how hard I followed the instructions; the filtered product always had the chalky taste of paracetamol, meaning it didn't work.

I did use to know a very simple solvent extraction ( you just substitute the water for a solvent, basically) and it always yielded me some tasty pure codeine. This is gonna annoy you, but I can't remember the name of the damn solvent.

I have good news, however! Here in the UK we can buy codeine linctus without a prescription. 15mg of codeine per teaspoon, if I remember correctly. You'll have trouble finding it in shops, but look for UK based online chemists. You may also want to look into Gee's Linctus (tincture of opium) and J Collis Browne cough syrup (morphine). You don't want to be drinking this stuff in large quantities though, with all the crap they put into it.

All told, we don't have it too bad in the UK

Even if it's a different formulation, the solubility of the APAP is the same. It is probably another filler that is getting through. I suggest checking the ingredients on your packaging and then check for solubility data on each component of the formula, and compare it against that of the codeine. This should clear everything up (pun half intended).

Thanks, not getting a box or patient information sheet from the chemist so I'll have to see if I can find out what else is in it. Luckily back to the Solpadol this month, different chemist makes all the difference of you ask nicely.
I have some codeine linctus on order and some kaolin and morphine. Not sure at the wisdom of mixing these with tramadol though.

Not having a good week, managed to mess myself up at work after taking too much doxylamine last night. Christ, talk about a weird night and not feeling real yet.

Anyhoos, thanks for the advice guys, appreciated :-)
