HPPD from MDMA?

Up until last month I had only done ecstasy on two occasions over the past four years. I rolled every weekend for 4 weeks straight, and each weekend I rolled 2 or 3 days in a row, sometimes without sleep in between. In total, I consumed around 20 pills and close to a gram of pure MDMA crystal in the past month. It has now been 9 days since I have done any type of MDMA and I am still seeing tracers ex. when I play my guitar and slide down the neck quickly I see tracers of my hand. When I watch television, if someone on the screen is moving quickly I see multiple objects. I also see a slight aura effect around objects, and I can notice that my depth perception is a little off. These effects become much more noticeable when I smoke marijuana, even after the first hit. I'm wondering if this could be the onset of HPPD. Also, I'm prescribed to 90mg of Adderal per day which I take on a regular basis. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Also would the Adderal have any effect on this?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I started getting light HPPD after MDMA / amphetamine abuse..

I think sleep deprivation alone can set off some HPPD stlye disturbances..

But then again, i've heard.. it's not HPPD untill you've gone a month with no drugs and its still there.

I've also heard that HPPD is alot more common that people realise.. some people can have it without even noticing.. it's only when they look for it they see it.

Yeah, I think MDMA does this to more people than we realize. I definitely have it, sometimes it's so intense that I really feel like I'm 'rolling'. I never had any flashbacks or disturbances in my years of using other psychedelics; it was only when I started using too much MDxx this happened. Sleep deprivation and caffeine seem to be triggers for me.

What you're describing does sound like the "classical" symptoms of HPPD ("classical" in quotes, since it's still not an accepted disorder). Note that HPPD is characterized by purely visual disturbances; it has nothing to do with suddenly feeling like you're rolling, and in fact the visual disturbances don't necessarily have to be the same as the ones you'd experience while on MDMA. Suffice to say, HPPD resulting from any substance use is pretty uncommon, but can occur in people who are suspect to it, and can sometimes be treated with benzodiazepines to reduce the excessive stimulation that causes it.

I would refrain from using any substances for a while if your well-being allows for it. If it doesn't go away and you find that it's impairing your quality of life, make an appointment with an ophthalmologist about it and they might be able to give you some ideas. Of course, most physicians aren't trained to recognize or handle the results of illegal substance use, so this might only take you so far. :\

I have residual (correct?) hallucinations every night and haven't rolled in 100 days. I didn't have any problems (that I remember) until my last use 100 days ago, where I had a good amount of oral MDMA/meth/2c-i. After that day(where I hallucinated a lot), I have had them. Also, I do not remember any memory problems from MDMA till after that day(could be I just didn't notice).
Is this possibly permanent? When this day happened, the last 5-6 times I had rolled were at least a month apart, usually 5 or 6 weeks I think. Hadn't really "abused" since 09, and hadn't noticed any major negative effects of that 09 over use to be honest.

Also, sometimes I look at the ground or the walls and they look somewhat like they would when I am on mushrooms(moving in waves or breathing). It looks very real, and is especially noticable when my eyes are in the same spot 5+ seconds. Only mushed a couple times, latest maby in march. Don't remember this till after that one stupid last time I rolled :\
