I have a dream to go to Cape Town...and South Africa in general. I am a big fan of Steve Biko and Nelson Mandela(among others) and the people of South Africa who have put up quite a fight. It gives me great joy to hear you are happy there.
So what else are you into besides trance parties and this internet? i'm an internet junkie as well-among other things. anything can be ab addiction;)

glad to have you ...go let your Bluelight shine!

peace and love....................skillz

Hey,
Cant remember if I ever posted in this thread....I have been reading these forums for a while and decided to join in a little while back.
I am a 33 yo guy, living in Cape Town, South Africa, I was born in Zimbabwe, but moved here when I was about 5 yo.
I am an internet junkie, and have been working on the net for the last 10 years doing web design, web hosting, seo etc.
I finally have the best girlfriend ever, we have been together for almost 3 years, after being married to my first true love for a year and a half, before it all went pear shaped. My lady and I love going trance parties, and when there are none, we hike, travel and explore South Africa.
Nice to meet you all!

I envy your life! :D %)

Seriously, I've been a web junkie as well since I first discovered photoshop around age 12. I do web design, and get this- my dream has always been to get to a decent enough place in my web design career to move to South Africa for a while and work on the net for a living. Seriously, I'm not bullshitting you.

About 3 years ago I made friends with some South African web designers (I forget what they're company was called, they were brothers and there company name was something like 'OBox') and from briefly checking out there careers and lives in SA I was convinced I needed to do some traveling/living there. It seems like such an amazingly beautiful country, and just my climate, coming from Coastal California. I would LOVE to visit some day.

Anyways, enough about me, its just really coincidental to hear your story.

Welcome to BL, hope you stick around ;)

LOL @ ektamine, yeah, I really enjoy being in Cape Town, and dont think i'll ever leave :)
The nice thing about working online is you can work from anywhere really...why not in SA!

Most of what I know about cape town, is what I learned from "endless summer 2" lol... seems like a pretty rad place... except for that whole aparthied thing.... but that's over now right?... welcome to bluelight... :)

how's the substance scene there? and what about the law enforcement?-esp if a foreigner gets caught w/ something? that scares the hell out of me-traveling,drugs and getting caught.

@ skillz~4~thrillz, yeah, you can get basically anything you want pretty easily if you know the right people....it depends on your scene...I'd bet that you can probably get anything and everything here

I like the outdoor trance party scene, and there you can very easily get hold of weed, shrooms, LSD and MDMA without any problems...even if you dont know people, lol, they will find you pretty quickly!

Not sure on what happens if a foreigner gets caught with something....I think it depends on the substance, and the amount of it. I think if you are caught with something like heroin, you will be in more trouble than if you are caught with say some weed.

@ Chemically Insane yeah, the apartheid thing was over in the early 1990's, almost 20 years now :)

the way he is.....

I envy your life! :D %)
