Opioids Hows this for a simple extraction?

Im not planning on doing this as I know if i were to do a extraction it would be a normal CWE

If you crushed up the codeine/whatever tablets, then mixed them into water, then cooled the water and then got some tissue paper/cotton pad and dipped it into solution would this work as an extraction technique?

As I see it: the insoluble crap would have sunk to the bottom of the glass and would not be able to travel up into/through the paper/cotton (based on simple chromatography), only the water with the codeine dissolved in it you be absorbed by the tissue paper/cotton and then you could just rinse out that paper into a glass etc.

one issue I see is that if you mixed before cooling...you're letting the APAP dissolve into the water...this is why you used cold water to begin with

also...I see a lot of product getting wasted this way...and you'd have to use a lot of paper to soak all the water needed for a normal CWE

It seems like a lot of work when you can just do it normally by pouring the solution through a filter.

what you're proposing sounds a pain in the ass and more effort than needed and likely to lose product in the end as a result.
