Hows it going?

I think I correctly posted my first bluelight thread earlier, my question of origin was, how do I post a question..correct me if I am wrong, do I have to go to a specific category that relates to my question and than post my question/thread there?

Yeah

if your thread has to do with psychedelics, try Psychedelic Drugs

if it's a really basic question about drugs, try Basic Drug Discussion

if it's about romance/sex/friends/family, try Sex Love & Relationships

if it's about education/careers, try Education & Careers

and so on.

Welcome aboard misanthropypure. :) The Captain has it right. If you ever have any more questions, feel free to ask. That's what we're here for. The Greenlighter's Guide is also an excellent resource (and not just for greenlighters). I hope you enjoy your stay here! :)

Hows it going guys! I am having trouble posting a thread on here. I have a question I want to ask, but I do not know how to post -_-

Hey there! - and welcome to our Bluelight family! We always love having newcomers - and we do our very best to try and take care of you.

Sorry if this sounds simplistic - I'm not sure of your knowledge of forums / computers and what-not so if this comes across as patronising in any way, it's honestly not my intent.

Here goes :) - In Bluelight we have different sub-forums. There are many different threads within each - some are what BL terms as megathreads and others are threads created be members. You will often see people post in the thread "to the OP," which means original poster, person who created the thread.

An example of a sub-forum of Other Drugs (OD) (the bit that says "Other Drugs" in blue is a link and you can mouse quick the words to be taken straight to the sub-forum, Other Drugs) If you open up one of their sticky-threads called List of Megathreads (read before making another thread) - then you will see a full list of all the megathreads within that section. They often contain information on the first post about the substance the megathread is focusing on. For instance, if you look at - Suboxone/ Buprenorphine Megathread and FAQ V.18.0 you will see that the first page contained a detailed account of what suboxone is, in what form it can be taken, how it comes i.e. pill form or films and then will continue on from the last post of the megathread before (every thread will reach 1000 posts or around this amount, and then a new one will be made hence the v.18 in the suboxone megathread).

That was discussing megathreads. To participate in a megathread simply click "reply," a box will appear, type your message and click "Post Quick Reply" or if you would like to quote someone you click "quote" instead and the person's message will appear then you can choose to type above or below the message but not within the message itself as BL will not let you post and a message will appear saying something like "Post is to short!"

Before producing your own thread, they advise us to try and search whether or not the thread has been made previously with a similar question. This is because you could either participant in that person and it would "kill two birds with one stone," helping you and it also helps Bluelight in that less threads are created thus more space etc.

To produce your own thread, at the top of the sub-forum, there will be an icon that says "New Thread" click that and simply do as you would do when replying within a thread. The only difference is that you have to put a subject (similar to if it was an E-mail), it tells the other members what the thread is about so that you receive responses. I'll also explain how to subscribe if this is something that you may be interested in. To subscribe to your own thread - or any other thread, simply go to the top of the thread, click "Thread Tools," select the appropriate options and click the icon on the bottom, right, which says "subscribe thread" or something like that.

- BLUA (Bluelight User Agreement)
- Greenlighter's Guide
- New Members Introductions
- Adoption Programme

A good thing about the NMI Social thread is not only can it help you increase your post count fast (in order to become a Bluelight quicker) but you get to talk with members from all over the site; both Greenlighters and Bluelighters. It's also light-hearted and fun. Many caring and welcoming members hang out there. Many members have also commented on how helpful the adoption programme has been to them to. It is a programme where current members of the site befriend new members and become your first friend on here as well as try to help you settle in better, explain how things work and that sort of thing. If this is something that would be of interest to you, please feel free to comment on the adoption thread expressing your interest. If you read through the thread you'll see comments from members who are offering to adopt and Bronson has lists of members wanting to adopt or be adopted as well as the matches of adopters-adoptees.

Hope this is of some help and not overwhelming. Please ask any questions re site and hope that you enjoy your experience here as well as get from it what you need and want.

All the best,
Evey
