i have these pills with like 5 refills and heard they were good for anxiety. any opinions?

depends on dose. the first time i took gabapentin i took 300mg and it helped... after that it didn't. if it did it was all placebo IMO. safe drug, though. i took lyrica but it made me very dizzy.

Neurontin made me "drunk," which I guess you could say gets rid of the anxiety lol. I was on 1200 mg/day. I thought it really helped with the anxiety, muscle stiffness/tension, nerve pain, and seizures.

I think gabapentin helps out okay for anxiety. It's no where near as good as benzo's even the shitty ones like Librium, but it's definately better than something like buspirone, at least in my experience. I found that with gabapentin, the best way to get consistant anxiety relief is to keep your dosage low, I would say no more than 600 mg a day. If you take very high ammounts of gabapentin, the BA strangely goes down in a linear fashion, so in a sense it's just wasting it.

one thing that should be mentioned though, is that gabapentin effects people very differently. When I first got prescribed neurontin, I thought it was a miracle drug, similar to a mix of xanax and dextroamphetamine. I quit it for a few months, and when I started on it again, it effected me totally differently. Now i find the effects more similair to a body buzz similair to alchohol, with a mental high that is similar to marijuana, which is really unpleasant to me. Some people find Gabapentin to be very stimulating too, which may not work out too great if your using it for anxiety.

Gabapentin or Pregabalin (stronger) are good for anxiety, in particular social anxiety. In high doses they will put you in a GREAT mood, that I'd say gives Opiates a run for their money, well maybe not a real strong opiate dose.

Damn, I wish gabapentin made me feel that good.

It is true that it potentiate's opiates incredibly well, and by itself it works wonders for withdrawal. In some sense I guess the body high is comparable to that of opiates.

Tolerance builds SUPER fast. It works really well for some people in terms of alleviating their anxiety, and not so much for others. Definitely has something to do with the dose, but it also just seems to be a hit or miss sort thing. Brand name Gaba, even at lowish doses of 150-300mg used to FUCK me UP. Now it does very little, if anything noticeable at all high wise.
