Hey e’erybody! Been lurking around on and off for years, finally decided to come out of the shadows. I have loved most all the substances at various times in my life, however as I’ve gotten older I’ve noticed I enjoy hallucinating a lot less at 40 than I did at 20 or 30. I also have developed a sincere appreciation for anything that comes from poppies, synthetic or otherwise. Still enjoy some of that good Bolivian marching powder from time to time, but less reasons (aka drunk Friday nights) in my life these days. So yeah, thanks to everyone that comes and shares their knowledge here, it’s a great resource.

Hey FLsurfer,

I'm curious - what was your experience with taking hallucinogens? Did you have any epiphanies? I have done LSD and shrooms once each, and I remember figuring out something really important, but I forgot what it was when I sobered up, lol. It's cool to have veterans around - i'm sure you have some cool stories to tell.

And how are you liking NYC?

Welcome to Bluelight :)

Thanks for the welcome Madness! I started really young with all of it, pot at 13, drinking around the same, and where I grew up we had the purple ringer shrooms growing for the picking in the cow fields, so I was probably 14 or 15 the first time I tripped. Moved up to LSD within a year or two and generally stayed with shrooms and L until I was in my mid 30s. Regarding epiphanies, I had one that changed everything- Phish NYE 2000 Big Cypress. I was thinking about my experiences to date in life and it occurred to me that priorities in life should be informed by the relative abundance of resources- to wit, time, the one non-renewable resource in our lives. Second, love, for what is a life without love? Third, money, because without it 1 and 2 become more difficult. That was roughly 20 years ago, and it stuck.

See previous response- re: NYC- hate it. Not a city person. My better half is employed by a firm HQd here, so she left me to my own devices for the day while she meets and greets the bosses. I thinking I’m going to find a pub and start a good day drink.

Hey and welcome to blue light..
From the psychedelics you have tried what did you like. I like psychedelics to but try stay to the natural side when it comes to them
My favourite so far is still shrooms but I'm yet to try San Pedro and and ayashca trip. Plus then there is salvia and DMT I wanna try. But as a personal warning stay away from moon flowers (Solanaceae family, Datura inoxia) the trip can be very intense and last 48hrs plus and with my exp it was more of a demonic trip, nothing pleasant.

That’s an interesting question. Let me put it this way- I do not see myself ever taking L again, however I do see my self trying shrooms again. I have some serious spine/neck trauma and hallucinating seems to really aggravate it, so it eventually turned into this whole Konami Kodak thing to trip, where I’d take some L, then some molly to make sure I was in a good mood, then some Xan to make sure it didn’t get too crazy, then some Oxy for my back and neck, and then some gas for laughs, and so on...

I have yet to hear a good report on salvia. My personal experience with DMT was good the first few times, then very unpleasant the last time, and I haven’t touched it since. I’m real persnickety about my grasp on reality.

I have tried LSD back in the day when papers were still good like dr.hoffmans, tomato soup, sunfolwers and Simpsons. But the papers today are just not worth it reason I stick to natural forms like shrooms, some of the best I had was Cambodians and amazonian. A nice mellow to upper level trip I found penis envies to do the trick and golden teachers if I just want to chill out with friends and only want mild visuals with an overall feeling of happiness, like getting laughies which is always awesome

I was always a big fan of liquid. My experiences with shrooms have been overall limited, e.g. chocolates and such procured without sourcing documents, so I don’t have much of a frame on mush X vs mush Y. Those Goldie’s sound right up my alley though.

re: NYC- hate it. Not a city person.

I'm missing something, or it was edited - no reference to you being in NYC, but here you are. And your name is related to Florida? That's gotta suck. I was born'n'raised in Gainesville, grew up exploring the state. Now find myself in PA, and while I love it, it is a world different from FL in so many ways. What parts of FL did you surf at?

As for the tripping, I've had limited experience myself, however we do have our Psychedelic Drugs (PD) and you may want to check out our Trip Reports (TR) sections. Both may prove beneficial to you - and you may be able to contribute some of your own experiences.

Welcome to the site!

My NYC post was partially edited for sourcing (my bad). My efforts in NYC were fruitless. I was also born in raised in FL, and live there now. I love it. I mostly surfed east coast FL, cocoa beach, Sebastian inlet, satellite beach, and occasionally in St Auggie. Now I live west coast so it’s like once every couple of years we get a decent swell in the gulf, so it’s Indian Rocks and Mad beach.

Yeah, except for a hurricane crossing over, ya'll are fooked for waves. Still, not a huge drive across state...at least, it wasn't for me, but I was used to 4h drives at the drop of a hat for stuff...sometimes, just to see what was there.

Lol. That's often how it goes. Not bringing it back from the trip. That's not to say people don't bring back valuable lessons.

Also some people bring back negative changes in their psyche so set and setting must not be neglected.
