I found you via google.I suffer from kidney failure and am on Dialysis 3 times a week.I'm in the hospital quite a bit,where they always give me dilaudid for the pain.Only 0.5 mg via I.V. What I discovered was that they were throwing half the dosage tube of good dilauded away in those sealed drops in every hospital room.So I bought a 3 foot grabber from home depot and fished all the half tubes out and in a weeks time in the hospital had collected over 20 mg's og liquid dilaudid and was looking for a way to use it.Also came across the same situation with lorazepam I.V..Google is a wonderful thing.LOL
 
Oh man, you are so lucky to be able to fish it out!!! Just be careful when doing so. Make sure that it isn't exposed to any germs or dirt, or anything. I can't believe they would just throw away an open ampule of pain medicine!

If it is contaminated by something that isn't a virus or someone else's blood, then you can micron filter it to re-sterilize the solution.

and 0.5mg is such a small dose for someone who is getting dialysis, that's pathetic. Excruciating pain would barely be touched by 0.5mg.

That's awesome though man, you are a trooper to fish the leftover goods every time. :)

I hope that a kidney transplant is possible for you, and I also hope it happens one day.
