How to store MXE longterm

If you want to store it longterm, you should invest some money in good storage.
Longterm storage consists of:
-darkness
-vacuum (don't let air touch your mxe)
-as cold as possible (try getting colder than your freezer)

If you're really serious buy some equipment to suck it vacuum and store it immensely cold.

That sounds interesting. Any pointers on what devices go beyond the chilling power of my freezer? Any idea what size of financial investment we're talking here?

I doubt that would be necessary really. Just store it in a dark and dry container and put it in your freezer and I'm sure the chemical will last you as long as you need it. Just make sure it doesn't get wet when taking it out of the freezer. MXE isn't some super unstable molecule that will require -80oC temperatures not to break down.

This'll likely be merged with the Big & Dandy Storage thread, but since there hasn't been much information around lately about storing MXE, and since you're new, I'll leave this out in the open for a while, and if/when it is merged with the Storage Thread there'll be a redirect left here for a day or two :)

Really storage for any chemical is pretty standard though, the best storage for anything you want to keep long term is:
- Airtight container inside another airtight container, containing silica gels
- Cool dark environment, a fridge or freezer works great, just remember not to open the airtight container after removing from the cold place until it has returned to room temperature, to avoid condensation degrading the product.

If you vacuum seal your baggy (baggies) then you don't have to worry about oxygen/moisture absorbers. Am I correct?
