I'm sick as shit from taking too high of a dose of hydrocodone (for me. 25 mg) and threw in 30mg Codeine in with it. I feel like hell and i'd like to know if there's a way to "abort" the high?8(

Only taking antagonists which would be rather difficult to attain and would probably not offered clinically unless you're at risk - if you're not in danger, you don't need to go to an ER or call an ambulance for a shot of narcan (naloxone).

If you're just uncomfortable, you can try to relieve the nausea such as by laying down or whatever you have found success with but there isn't a way to abort the high without antagonists.

Luckily i'm not in danger of respiratory depression, I just feel pretty uncomfortable. I tried laying down for about 45 minutes but it didn't do much for me. Just feel like crap is all.

Antihistamines may help - I would recommend less or non-sedating ones such as meclizine or second generation ones such as claritin (loratidine), zyrtec (cetirizine), etc.

^^benedryl is a life-saver when you get a bad case of opiate nausea

Definitely, the first generation sedating antihistamines have the highest efficacy as antiemetics (reducing nausea) however if you're sensitive to the sedation or don't want to increase your level of sedation, they are ill-advised.

I LOVE Bluelight! Thanks all for these tips! Took 75 mg Benadryl and nausea is gone! Luckily benadryl has never sedated me and I feel so much better. So glad I joined this site

I'm glad it worked for you! Since this seems resolved, I'm going to go ahead and close this but if you'd like it reopened for any reason, feel free to PM me.
