Heroin How to practice before the real thing?

Well on Tuesday I'm going to shoot heroin for the first time and well I want to be well prepared beforehand. So my question is what can i do to practice? I have about 10 new sterile rigs and i would be willing to use some for one time practice use. Ive heard that some people practice with just water, but I'm not entirely sure if that's true.

Any help will be appreciated.
 
I don't see any potential issue in just using an empty syringe and pulling up a unit or 2 of blood like you would anyway then pushing it in. is there any reason why something needs to be in the syringe to begin with? I have never done this that's why i am asking, but i don't see why it wouldn't work.
 
^ you could practice a register with sterile water......however many units you want
 
why do you need to inject anything to "practice"?
The hard part is making sure you hit the vein, you can do that with an empty syringe. Stick it in, pull back some blood, then if you want push the blood back in (NO AIR though).
 
i've never injected anything, but to me, it seems like sticking a dry syringe into a vein and pulling back might be a little awkward, does having something in the barrel to create a wet seal/lubrication for the plunger.....just a thought, extrapolated from my exp with an oral syringe

Also I was thinking more about the weight of the syringe. Empty is a lot lighter than full of H20 whether the water's got drugs in it or not.

edit: also regarding toomuchspeed's post don't super fret about air as if you get a few little bubbles they will just harmless dissolve into your blood.

Dude, the actual shooting up is the worst part in the process, why would you practice with just water?
When i trained to be an EMT we practiced on Oranges.
 
Yea the more units you have the more awkward registering becomes. I recomend putting about 50units of water in.

If your not scared of needles there really is no worst part.
 
Yeah, contrary to popular belief a tiny air bubble going into your vein doesn't make your heart explode.

It actually takes a LOT of air going into your veins to kill you (and it does so by blocking the capillaries in your lungs so you're essentially suffocating internally), but there's no reason to inject any air you don't have to. It's a risk without any benefit.

This is true; it is also called an air embolism.
 
Is it also true that it would even take more then one syringe full of air to kill you. Sure i've heard it would take a few, or am I just making this up :?.

Well it takes a decent amount of air to kill you. (a 1 mL syringe full of air will not kill you)

I don't know how big the syringe would have to be to have enough air to kill you.

You shouldn't intentionally inject a lot of air regardless, it's just that you don't need to be overly concerned about injecting a few small bubbles of it.

there's the issue of blood clotting which will cause severe complications.

as people have mentioned use sterile water ampules for practice; its the safest way i know of and have used in the past.

I don't know how big the syringe would have to be to have enough air to kill you.

iirc correctly the amount of air which is inherently dangerous is around 2cc's, so two full 1cc syringes. a few little air bubbles aren't going to be dangerous.

If im not mistaken, isn't it still possible to have "complications" from injecting even smaller amounts of air(such as a few moderate sized bubbles in one syringe, from one injection)? Isn't it possible that even a somewhat smaller amount of air than it takes to kill you, could still possibly do harm?.....such as blocking some of the smaller blood vessels or veins in your body or arm.
I could be wrong its just all I saw people talking about was what amount of air would kill you, and I never read anything about what could potentially cause damage in other ways than just death. I could be wrong but I have a feeling that there is still damage to be done by relatively smaller amounts of air being injected into your veins.

well, you've got to define "smaller amounts" by how many units are you talking about. a few units, ie 10-20 will do no harm as far as i've experienced. other people may have been not so lucky.

i'd have to go do some reading and research to refresh my mind on the subject.
