Hey, so I come seeking knowledge tonight.

How often can someone take xanax and not become physically dependant?

I have a rule I use that no more than three days in a row and no more then three times per week. Does this sound like a solid plan?

I have in the past abused benzos and suffered greatly for a few months because of it.

I want to be able to take them mostly on the weekends like Friday Saturday night type thing if I keep it to the weekends only am I safe? I usually take 1-2mg per day never more than 2mg.

I love xanax but it's like a beautiful woman who lures you in to her warm embrace only for you to realize she is satan incarnate months into your relationship.. So I respect xanax now and will not abuse it.

Any experienced benzo users here?

I would say just do it for a couple days in a week then wait like a month. It completely depends on your own ability to not take it too often. Just use it for a few days and wait a month or two. That's what I do.

Yeah just limit yourself as much as possible. I was once physically dependent on benzos and it was a rough road coming off of them. The re-bound anxiety and headaches were hard. Luckily I was able to taper and didn't have to go cold turkey but even that was very difficult.

I'm prescribed Vallium (diazepam) ,serapax (oxeazepa) Ativan (lorazepam) . And my doctor wants me to take 10mg Vallium , 30mg serepax and 2mg daily but I don't want to do that because then I would become addicted to them and be dependent on them so I only take them when I really need them like before I have to go shopping or go out into a public place were theses heaps of people or once a week take heaps of them and just relax on couch . My advice is don't take them everyday or even every second day if you take them everyday for a week straight don't take any for a month :) it avoids cravings and addiction

Yep that's what I'm doing and have done for a while. I take random doses for max 3 days in a row and quit for 5-21+ days depending how badly I crave them. Never got addicted that way and I also choose to switch around the benzos I take cause usually I have time to stock up on a few different types on the time I don't take them and never take Xanax for 3 days after the 4th without it you feel kinda shitty anxious cause short half life but ya I've done that 4 years now recreationally wish I could do that with opiates that I cannot control even 24 hours :/

Alright guys,

Man, bluelight never ceases to amaze me with the collective knowledge we all possess.

So I've got a good idea of what a safe dosing regiment is. I agree with Helper that even 3 days is pushing it with Xanax. Better to keep the days here and there and never no more then 2 days in a row.

It's funny you made the thread man cause I'm going through that now. Went on a 4-5 day mixing total 8 mg clonazepam 8 mg Xanax and 140 mg Valium stopped for two days and than at the end of day two couldn't handle it took 5 mg Valium felt amazing than another 5 mg and that's it . Waited another day no dose today took just 5 mg Valium and feel fine now it's been 5 days since that binge and I took 15 mgs Valium to sort of taper off a binge if that makes sense. Off to bed now

great question.

swim once took STUPID amounts of benzos daily for.....18 months! 3 different types, all day for 18 months. WITHDRAWAL WAS F**ING HELLLL!

But swim still take benzos :) why? because swim educated myself. As a rule of thumb, if you cant feel the effects of 10mg valium...you have a slight problem. If you cant feel the effects of 1mg clonazepam....you have a big problem. If you cant feel the effects of 2mg of alprazolam (xanax)...your screwed. go to rehab. end game. buckle down for the benzo withdrawal train....careful folks...this ride takes MONTHS.

1-3 times per week max AS NEEDED ONLY! . then wait 7 days before re-dose. research the half life of each benzo. educate yourself. understand how they work. understand how humans have created analogues of existing benzo's and farked with them to exploit particular properties.

Benzo withdrawal in swims experience:

most severe withdrawal (symptons and length of withdrawal) in order of most severe (1) to not to bad (5)
1.clonazepam (potent long acting benzo) - BRUTAL!!!! often requires hospitalization after prolongued use. 18 months of daily use = 4 months of severe withdrawal symptoms including multiple hospital visits.
2. diazepam - very bad. bad depression. terrible withdrawal
3.xanax (alprazolam) pretty bad withdrawal. especially sleep. however its a shorter acting benzo. so withdrawal wasnt as bad as the others. its kinda of quick and ruthless but doesnt drag on like the longer acting benzos.
4.temazepam designed for sleep. so sleep is hopeless for weeks after you stop taking

^^ thats all in swims experience.

it should be noted that heroin addicts say that benzo withdrawal is far worse then heroin withdrawal. You can find this info on this site and elsewhere.

swim use to be a therapist for recovering benzo addicts (funny that! 8)) and after years of use you will begin to lose emotions such as empathy, joy, the ability to reconize when someone is pissed off etc....they will fry your brain until you cant process normal human emotions. Then your wife or husband divorces you and you cant understand why ....it goes on. trust me they can really fuck you up.

be careful!! 8o:D

How can you still be swimming after 76 posts?

Thank god you were equipped with Valium to do a rapid taper. I hate to think what would happen if you didn't have anything to ease your way.

It's crazy how just one week of abuse (albeit those doses were pretty high) people can expierence moderate to severe withdrawal symptoms.

This is a extremely powerful class of drug that demands our respect or we pay so dearly for it.

Ya man it sucks when I'm trying to detox starting tonight I'm free from now till Monday to kick opiates and manage the benzos but use them for kick. I mean it wouldn't be the end not having 15 mg of Valium for 5 days but it helped

Ya benzodiazepines are a bitch. They are the only thing that actually works for real bad anxiety. And I have an anxiety disorder and agoraphobia. When I first got prescribed them from my doc I would not take them daily even tho he told me to daily I only took as needed. Cuz I kno how bad benzo withdrawl can be.
But then I randomly got this really good job. But in order to keep my job I had to be all outgoing and talkative and not shy so that made me start taking them daily cuz of work and now I'm to scared to try to stop so now I'm just taking them daily like I was prescribed which helps my disorder a lot I'm doing better than I have in years really helped me.
But o am I scared of the time when I have to get off them eventually and I do miss them working stronger when I didn't take them daily. But at least I have kept my daily dose average or low.
My bad if I'm being random just wanted to talk about life on benzos. Peace

And I meant they are a bitch cuz they are the only thing that really works for real anxiety and it sucks struggling thru life with anxiety panic attacks. Agoraphobia
But they have hell withdrawals.

Their good and bad
