My son has bought a lead (the 3 pin lead- composite? ) not a HDMI, like the one for the x box and the sound works but no picture. I don't know what to do and he's too lazy to look himself. everything I have tried lokng up myself just says, connect this to that oooh, isn't the ipad a wonderful thing for watching stuff.

some suggest an app for watching video. all i say is what a ridiculous state of affairs. he's nausing my head about it while i want to do my own thing rather than read the same shit over and over agian. anyone know what to do?

I guess it has a 3 phono connectors:-

Red - Sound

White - tother sound what with all this new fangled stereo bizness in the area

Yellow - composite video

Is the yellow plugged in, if so to what connector (what does is have written next to it)

I've always used a SCART converter for such shenanigans.....how is it connected to the over priced and over rated yanky hardware ??

cheers, I've tried it with the scart and it still doesn't worked. it's not an official apple one. I've looked around and am not getting decent answers, just seeing things saying this app and that app. Yep, it's apiece of shit. I hate the way that people bum lick apple as being a nice company. there is no such thing.

So the red and white leads are plugged into the TV sound input and that works...right

Where are you plugging the yellow composit phone ??

I guess you have cycled through all the TV's inputs ...AV1, AV2 HDMI etc etc with it all connected up?

'nice company' nahh we is livin in a Babylon innit;)

Buy an Apple TV and you won't need any cables as it links wirelessly. Costs about £99 but you can then stream anything from your iPad or icloud

NEW APPLE TV 3rd GENERATION FULL HD QUALITY 1080p http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181166520...ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=54&ff19=0 this for those of you like me who were thinking a apple tv for £99 must be a miss print

so your son would rather bitch about tjings to you then trying to find an answer himself?

anyway, since i understand it s not an official ipad, what king of tablet is it if not an ipad? what os?

Depending on your TV system and what your trying to achieve -

Music Switch your surround sound to bluetooth, connect your IPAD and play away (no cables etc) (I stream radio to my sound system and its flawless)

To Play video content, you tube, view photos etc then you can buy a small filter that connects your ipad to HDMI - HDMI to TV (Im using a Samsung TV).

It's called and HDMI & AV -connection kit for Ipad . There about 30£

so it's not a simple plug in a nd go thing. it is a proper ipad but the lead is not a proper apple one

I have never seen one, you need an adapter from your IPAD to feed HDMI - then HDMI to tv. There may be cheaper versions about but this filter is perfect for me :). Its only 30£

well, it use to be plug and play with one of the earlier versions of ipod... really easy, even with unoriginal cables. sorry to hear theyve changed it though...

have you tried http://ipad.about.com/od/iPad_Guide/a/How-To-Connect-Your-Ipad-To-Your-Tv.htm
its a pretty well thought out list of things to try out... as far as i can see, your cable is one of those that might only work with apps supporting video out...

^ lol, yea I sometimes forget we're not in the 90's anymore. This reminded me of the days of trying to tune in the playstation. You'd get the sound but no picture coz it wasn't tuned in right.

If the TV is modern, all I can suggest is that she uses a scart, make sure it's jammed in fully and switch red yellow and white plugs around each of the sockets and see if that effects sound/picture. Trial and error is usually best way for these things.

I have a 55" plasma TV for sale if anyones interested. Almost new, faulty volume control but at this price you can't turn it down.

Is this just a joke (which I took a full minute to get) or do you really have a plasma for sale, my mate's looking for one.
