I am in NY, 22 years old male.
I broke my leg 5 years ago and had hardware installed that is a visible bump. A few months ago I realized I could use it to my advantage, I went to ER's said I was in severe pain all the time where the hardware is and got scripts for perk 5's until they said no more and referred me to my family doc, who gave me 1 script to 4 5 mg percocet a day, then he referred me to my original surgeon who gave me a script of 30 perk 5's, I called back crying 2 weeks later and got 80 perk 5's, then when I called back for more they said they want to move me down to 5 mg hydrocodones in stead and they wrote me 1 refill for it and suggested I try to ween my self off of them if possible, so I am now out of refills and I called back and they said I can pick up another prescription for the 5 mg hydrocodones (60 of them 6 a day) tomorrow but they wont write a refill because I have a check up with my surgeon around the time that refill runs out and they want me to talk to him about it. What tips do you have for at least keeping my hydrocodone 5's or perhaps even convincing him to give me something stronger such as the hydrocodone 7.5's or my perks back. I understand perks are harder to get because they are a schedule II and vicodin is a scheduel III I am just afraid they are going to cut me off completely... They keep suggesting I get surgery to remove the hardware and I tell them im trying to get my ducks in a line as far as insurance and disability goes because as we all know surgery is not always convenient and I cant pay bills unless I can work. ADVICE PLEASE!!! NEED MORE NARCOTIC PAIN KILLERS! thanks.
