How to Improve Memory

and theres fasting.. i somehow dont buy into brain training. may have some help, but actual memory brain rejuvenation, FAST.. yes i'm preaching thy fasts. nail me to a cross
OMG I tried a fast one time and I nearly broke every bone in everyones body who tried to stop me getting to the fridge, must admit it must have picked up my memory cos all of a sudden I remembered kung foo I saw in a film back in the 80's lol.
trying to eat more healthily and exercising and using certain methods of training your brain are probably the most proven to work , easiest to maintain and the healthiest.

Memorizing phone numbers can be a good way to improve memory. Its not hard, and it comes in handy. I used to be quite the roller myself, so my memory isn't that great either. The phone number trick helped me a bit. Good luck with your memory friend (: hope this helps (:

Nintendo DS.
Brain Age and Brain Age 2 are fun games to help keep your mind sharp.

i quit smoking 4 months ago. at first no memory came back at all. after a month barely anything had changed and i regretted quitting. for the past few months i havent changed my daily lazy routine much but i have however been forcing myself to try to recall my dreams(with as much detail as possible for however long as it takes) from the previous night every morning and that has been helping substantially. i also started kung fu 3 weeks ago and im goin back to school this month. my memory has certainly improved alot. while on this topic, i feel like while i was smoking for 2 years i killed the cells that told me who i was at some point. is that even possible? i've completely lost the concept of self identity. i've been working on recovering it but i've been feeling quite psychopathic and lost... thus my name (:

Chess
Sudoku

+ ginkgo biloba.

THis is a supplement to the rest, not the other way round. :)

I think martial arts could be good - never heard of this, but if so maybe yoga too? Restore balance.

being interested in stuff works a mighty charm. you learn much more when you're a willing participant. :)

If you truly do smoke weed everyday, after going cold turkey for about a week you will notice your mind to be much clearer.

lol chess and sudoku are great for your memory. though i think my memory was affected in a different way from smoking weed. for instance during my habit i would play chess with my teacher weekly and i'd do damn good. i'd do pretty good in sudoku. on the other hand i would start a sentence and forget what i was saying mid-sentence and just pause for like 10 seconds. i've drastically improved on that part of my memory. i also would forget names and school material quickly. im still horrible with names lol and i havent been to school since i got sober but thats beside the point o.o. also my balance and coordination improved miraculously while i was a stoner. wierd huh? i think that was connected with my whole beginning to drive and losing weight. martial arts are great for your memory (:

^ I have exactly the same thing...

I used to be great with names (still good with faces...but can't put name to face usually after exchanging names ONCE, twice works for me...I always have to say "sorry, stoner memory..."), and now I often forget what I was saying halfway through a sentence, even though I stopped smoking regulary 2 years ago.

I don't, however, exercise my brain as much as I could at all...I'm fucking lazy.

THat's pretty good you did those WHILE you had your habit...my habit consisted of eating, smoking, fucking, sleeping, drawing, dancing sometimes. Nothing mentally challenging really...I lost the will for all that while I was in college (your latest high school years), while I was smoking everyday for 2 years.

Odd about the balance and coordination...although balance is affected by how stressful your day has been, and left & right hemispheres are affected by...erm I forgot what my yoga teacher told me...haha :p

Magnesium and Zinc (particularly together) are very important for maintaining a well functioning nervous-system, period. They play an integral role in balancing NMDA channels, along with other things. If you're deficient in these, you might as well forget about memory-enhancing activities.

Didnt know this. thx. gotta stock some full spectrum minerals :)
