After several visits with SWIMs primary care physician "trying" different medications for anxiety SWIM was finally given a prescription of Klonopin..which was the goal. Unfortunately, it is a measly 60 x .25mg tablets. The doctor was hesitant to prescribe a benzo (go figure) for a number of reasons. One being SWIM is only 20 and the doctor believes once he puts a patient on a benzo regiment it is a life sentence with periodic dosage increases necessary as tolerance is built. The other reason the doc was reluctant is that SWIM is a delivery driver and he doesn't want SWIM all kinds of sedated on the job nor does he want SWIM in trouble in the case of an accident where SWIM would then test positive for benzos. SWIM has a follow up appointment in 4 weeks to discuss how the meds have been working, write the next script, etc. How can SWIM obtain an increase in dosage without blowing his cover as a drug seeker? The doc isn't against SWIM trying a benzo as he treats several other members of SWIMs family with benzos (anxiety has run in the family for generations) he just wants to be careful because SWIM is younger. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Maybe go see a physc. Doc, they are more apt to prescribe for anxiety, assuming u r dealing with a pcp. SWIM isn't accepted on this forum tho, plus it's kinda lame anyways.

Hi, we don't use SWIM here.

In my experience, primary care physicians are extremely hesitant to prescribe benzos and will rarely (if at all) use them as a first line treatment. If you truly feel that you suffer from debilitating anxiety that .5mg klonopin a day can't significantly help with, your best bet would be to get into a psychiatrist, who are usually more likely to prescribe higher doses of heavy drugs like that.

What else have you tried to help with your anxiety? There are many things that can help significantly help with anxiety and anxious behaviors, that don't involve taking physically and psychologically addictive pills every day for the rest of your life. Not trying to sound preachy, but I've been down the benzo road before, and if you think your anxiety is fucked now, wait till you experience benzo w/ds....

"GIVE ME MORE KPINS OR I WILL FUCK YOU IN THE ASS BITCH"

Then, you reap the benefits.

That should work, well, I'd say the odds are in your favor.
