1)Get a book out of a free box.

2)Color out every word on the page except the ones you want.

3)Derive meaning.

4)Turn the page and repeat to the last page.

second page

I prepared myself,
waited for the show.

Sat down.
Opened. Started forming
what to do:
my possibility.

Turning to
this ritual was figuring out
meaning.

Hahahaha what a cool idea.

The stern and stubborn parent
was struck speechless

words flamed up between them
made him sick to his stomach

But this determined stand
fierce unbending will

belongs in history
with them

I'm bored so I decided to do another quick one :)

We know much more
Still living
At the moment
At the end
We can thus tear away
friends and enemies

OOOH, I love that one!

I am doing every page in a book that was called I Won't learn From You!: the Role of Assent in Learning. I changed it to I....From You!It is the only kind of therapy I can afford right now and it is as therapeutic as coloring in a coloring book when you were a kid. here's some other pages:

Woooowwww, that is awesome! That's gonna be a real work of art when you're finished, I'm really impressed.

And I really really like the poem in the first picture on the right.

And I... From You, that's really cool.

Yes, it seems to combine everything I need right now--the sort of mindlessness of puzzling out a few words into something vague, suggestive but cohesive, then COLORING and DOODLING two of life's greatest joys, and finally the sense of accomplishing something in a neat little package: a book!

You should do one <3:)

This is just too perfect. omg I can't wait to dive in to this!

btw there's lots of sweet pictures on that page you put up. Are the pieces of art all yours?

Also i hard time reading every word of the second picture you posted. What does that poem say? Or how did you arrange it?

How about finding poetry from a thread about how to find poetry as an example of how to find poetry????

Yes, I like to art up the pages as I go. So far I have used pencil, acrylics, collage, markers, whatever--it adds a whole new level of fun!:) As far as the arrangement, I go through the page once and pick out any words or phrases that I like and circle them with pencil, then try to find something that hangs together and then start coloring out everything you don't want.

Ok, the two poems on the crows page?

(on the blue page):

to me
society
was a
madness
a small, safe world
a role of
obedience.

(and the red page):

conscious reasons
he rejected
the whole
idea
of being.
He chose
to learn
changing.

Haha=D why not? And then you could just go through avatars and thread titles all over BL and probably come up with something too.

I especially like yours in the first two lines,
1) get free
2) out of every word you want

<3

when I was young
almost set the tone
my own view of life and history
somewhat later
moral passion
unblinking vision
frightening
the cosmic loneliness
impelled isolation
hours before execution

Nice, PK! What was the original book?

I have a growing stash of books lining up but the most promising is an old (1950) Emily Post book on manners LOL.

William Styron - Darkness Visible. First page of Chapter 2 =)

licence plates, pickups
figured screening in the pickup

obvious pickup
café or bar

didn't streets pulled up
drug thefts darker

town did you see that?
