How to fight OCD-like symptoms

oh, and look into a chinese herbal pill called "xiao yao wan" - my qi gong teacher who is also a TCM doctor recommended it to me and my research online showe dit mentioned on some OCD specific site ... it'll help with restlessness / energy management and stuff.
 
you might regret me saying this, but if you really need to pick at a certain spot, use nail clippers to get a clean cut so you don't peel away fresh, living skin attached to the dead skin. Then use moisturizer to rub over the spot. Just don't go overboard with the clippers.
 
Maybe you should give yourself a pedicure (not like nailpolish) but what I mean is like really take good care of your feet, scrub them with a stone or exfoliation scrub and use tons of lotion every night before sleep..maybe if the skin was more renewed and healthy feeling instead of that dead calloused layer you would be less tempted to pick at it.
 
im constantly picking the skin off my hands and biting my nails because the skin just looks bad but i like biting my nails it gives me something to do in class. my hands are just lines of dead skin that change every day.. this isnt ocd is it just something to do - it dosent hurt at all
 
i think the pedicure idea would work.. it's like people who bite their nails for years then make an effort not to and begin to have perfectly manicured nails... then again, do you really want to swap your heel-picking habit for a foot grooming habit? although much more beneficial, it wouldn't really be getting to the root of the problem now would it? still, beauty would be better than pain... plus, you might get people lining up to give you foot massages.... aaaaalways a bonus... *considering taking up a weekly pedicure*
