A lover of mine is coming to visit in just over a week. Recently, she's revealed to me that she has a thing for anything involving fire. This craving has been dominant in her for a very long time and she said that she's pretty much abandoned the idea that anything could ever really come of it in the bedroom. But I really want to develop this for her.

So anyway, candlewax is the obvious thing that comes to mind. And an elegant room lit by dozens of candles. But what else can be done? I was thinking about coupling the fire with ice cubes or anything else cold for a bit of back-and-forth. But I want other options. I want this all to completely overwhelm the woman in the best way possible.

Please keep the ideas safe enough that I won't accidentally kill one/both of us or have the police called on me. I have no formal training in this and rogue flames do kind of intimidate me.

Also, do not suggest that I dress up as a fireman. This is a different type of kink.

Seriously though, not sure where you live but can you not make a bonfire somewhere private? Get as close to it where your both comfortable (be careful though especially if your both wasted). It may just be me but the thought of being aroused by fire and turning up and having a lavender scented candle burning - wouldn't really do it for me.

Depending how far you want to push this - you could do the dry ice and red, orange lights indoors, play the sound of a fire etc (put tinfoil up at the windows so your neighbors don't call the fire brigade - actually don't have them chop down the door :D).

Maybe set up some of those silk flame fires?

I live in an apartment without access to a private outdoor area. So it would have to take place within my apartment, or within a rented hotel room.

I do like the idea of obtaining some type of fire sounds on loop and playing it. So kill the lights and illuminate the room with candles, play the loop and use dry ice or a fog machine to simulate the smoke? Actually not bad ideas, may do a trial run of that this weekend and see how it looks.
 
Add a red / orange light to the mix (you can buy those cheap plastic disco lights) replace the blue and green plastic covers for orange and reds. This will give you the 'flickering' effect (could also give you a migraine :D).

Make or buy one of the fake fires, 'silk flame' things - those coupled with some dry ice could look pretty nice. If your going to use candles, cut them at various lengths bunch them together infront of a mirror or some tinfoil to reflect the light (also stand them on tinfoil so the next day all you need to do is roll it up and throw it out). I once made the mistake of putting those little tea lights around the pool - looked amazing but the next day was spent scraping wax of the floor :D
 
try getting a fire proof suit and have her or you be lit on fire!
