Technical Problem how to embed youtube videos

how do i get videos embeded to post? or if that has been answered, plz post link to it.

i tried everything in the testing grounds to get a video embeded but nothing worked. i went to youtube, clicked "share video", clicked "embed", tried both codes old and new but it just posts a link instead of the video itself.

In the quick reply box there is a button you can click, and then paste a link to the video into a dialogue box.

Youtube is one of only a few sites that works, not sure what other sites we can link from. Vimeo maybe?

What specific forum were you trying to post the video in? That can have a lot to do with it, as embedded videos are not allowed site wide. You can check by looking at your posting permissions box below the quick reply on the left hand side. If only the line posting permissions is displayed, click the arrow on that line to expand it.

From here you'll see something that says either [VIDEO] code is Off or [VIDEO] code is On. In Support as an example, the value will display as Off, thus no embedded videos can be posted in this given forum.
