So I just chugged a bottle, and I felt inspiried to make a little guide on how to avoid puking after chugging cough syrup, since puking before you hit the desired plateau (3rd for me) will end your comeup and to some people (like me) waste your whole lean. This guide will make your chances of keeping it down better, but it will not prevent you from puking for sure.
You will Need:
Cough syrup (of course)
An antacid (alka-seltzer works best imo, tums dosen't work good at all, plain old baking soda helps a little)
Rubbing Alcohol (optional, questionable effectiveness)
Weed
Glass of water
Ginger root extract (optional. Ginger ale MIGHT work to some extent)
Disclaimer: Everything stated in this guide is from my PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. These tips may be more/less/not at all effective for different people.
Step 1: Have an empty stomach. This not only prevents nausea, but it also helps the DXM absorb better.
Step 2: Now for the worst part, chugging the cough syrup. The best way to chug it varies from person to person. Some people like pinching their nose and chugging it all at once, some people like drinking it gradually. Personally, I like to take repetitive sips without stopping, drinking water in between. I find that if I do it slow, I get sick by the time half the bottle is down, but if I do it like this, my body has not "noticed" the cough syrup yet.
-TIP: When drinking the cough syrup, "push" while swallowing. It's kinda hard to explain, you have to "flex" the top part of your mouth when swallowing. This sort of makes the syrup "jump over" your taste buds. This is VERY effective in my experience, and minimized the nastiness two-fold.
Step 3: Drop the Seltzer in the water. Be ready to drink it immediatly. Prepare your weed, be ready to take a emergency hit if needed. Prepare the ginger extract or anything else you have in the "items needed list". (I'll explain the rubbing alcohol later)
Step 4: Now you have to wait. I find it best to try to get my mind on something else, if possible. Some people recommend eating something like a cracker if you feel the nausea coming up, but personally I find that eating anything makes it worse.
TIP- IF YOU HAVE TO BURP, as soon as you burp, exhale hard. DO NOT allow yourself to taste the nasty syrup, it WILL induce nausea.
Step 5: If you feel significant nausea, do the following:
1. start by sipping water before you use any of your anti-nausea tools
2. Sip the alka-seltzer water. You should feel the nausea supressed to some extent.
3. Eat some ginger root. I usually eat it straight, but you can prepare it however you want.
4. Now for the emergency anti-puke tools. This usually happens to me during the 2nd plateau, whereas the 1st plateau yields little to no nausea, for me anything. If you feel like nausea reaching alarming levels, do the following:
- Drink a lot of the alka-seltzer water and the ginger root extract
- if that dosen't help, sniff the rubbing alcohol (please don't go crazy and get high off it though, only a little whiff) this should suppress some nausea, this should also be used if you feel like your about to puke
- When you get that instinct that your gonna puke (NOT when you know it's coming!) take a giant hit of ganja, give it a min or two and your nausea should be suppressed.
-Drinking water always helps somewhat.
Follow these steps until you hit the magical 3rd plateau, where nausea is non existent.
